Fitness Goals
Throughout my life, I have faced many physical obstacles, such as not being able
to run a fast mile or performing below average on physical activities. In order to
overcome these obstacles, I have set three goals to improve my physical fitness. My first
goal is to reduce my body fat to below fifteen percent. I want to achieve this to improve
my overall physical health and be more physically fit. My next goal is run a mile under
six minutes and forty seconds. This is a major goal for me because I want to be one of the
top milers in my grade and P.E. class. My third and final goal is to gain more muscle. I
want to achieve this goal to become stronger and as a result, more physically fit. In order
to achieve these three goals, I can perform five basic daily workouts. Each workout
begins with a mild stretch on the major muscles to prevent cramps. The first workout
requires me to run a mile everyday. After this workout, I can cool down by walking in
place at a slow pace. This will help me lose overall body fat. My next workout is to lift
weights. I can begin with small ones at home and work my way towards larger ones at the
gym. I can cool down this workout by ending with lighter weights. My third workout is to
participate in various sports, such as tennis, basketball, volleyball, and cross-country.
These sports will allow me to apply my daily exercises and stimulate my hand-eye
coordination. I can cool down by performing various drills designed for each sport. My
fourth workout is to perform push-ups everyday. I can start with 15 per day, increasing
when needed as time progresses. I can cool down this activity by stretching my arm
muscles. My final workout is to do daily curl-ups. I can begin with 50 per day and
increase when needed as time progresses. After I perform this workout, I can cool down
by taking a light jog around my neighborhood.
