The fifth anniversary edition of easyFairs PACKAGING INNOVATIONS Warsaw was held on 10 & 11

April 2013 in the Warsaw EXPO Center XXI. Participation in this event was a great opportunity to

become acquainted with the newest innovative trends, to exchange information and to establish

new business contacts.

The 130+ exhibitors included Polish as well as foreign (German, Lithuanian, Ukrainian, French, Italian,

British) companies.

One feature that sets Packaging Innovations apart are the learnShops™ seminars, which promote

exchange of experiences and options between packaging specialist. learnShops™ seminars are held

by industry experts, and take place right on the show floor, so every interested visitor can easily drop

in. This year representatives of such companies as Danone, BMPS Consulting, Kodak Poland and

Videojet Technologies shared their knowledge and experience. A particular focus was the innovative

technology of 3D printing, which has recently commanded much attention. Because this new

technology opens new doors for manufacturing, it raised lively discussions indeed.

New this year was the LUXPACK ZONE – aimed at producers of luxury goods. Here exhibitors

presented packaging for luxury goods, decorative packaging, and premium type packaging. The

visitors were especially drawn to the solutions presented in the Innovation Programme. Participating

companies had the opportunity to present their very latest developments, such as: product

innovations, leading-edge solutions in the field of packaging production, use of materials and

recycling.

Another success was the second edition of the STUDENTS ZONE, a clearly marked area where select

students could present their packaging concepts – and themselves. Chosen through a competition

organised in Facebook site, these had a unique opportunity to show their innovative ideas to industry

specialists and to establish valuable new contacts with packaging producers. The students’ zone met

with big interest from contractors looking for new inspirations and it was a great occasion from them

to learn abiut the expectations of the next generation.

Packaging Innovations also hosted a meeting between Polish businessmen and representatives of the

ECMA association, which represents European producers of cardboard packaging and works on

behalf of international packaging merchants, dealers of materials, industry press and related

associations. ECMA observes the current trends and topics of import to European producers of

cardboard packaging in order to create in the Polish market a unified cooperation platform at the

highest European level. During the show, the winners and finalists of the 2012 ProCarton/ECMA

Awards were also displayed.

This year the event was visited by more than 3000 visitors from Poland and other countries (Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Slovakia, Belgium, Netherlands, Hungary, France, Switzerland, Sweden,
