Study groups will be able to meet up in privacy inside the studying pods, which are modeled with wooden panels, fllowing the inclinations of the existing structure. They open up to the ramps path with glass windows at full height, on the front, and with sliding glass blackboards on the back, thanks to which pods can be used also outside. Indoors they are thought to be live by up to 6 people, with modular tables. STUDYING PODS For meetings and conferences we decided to save terraces with the front on a wall, on which to project, and with a curtain around them, that will visually close the auditorium. AUDITORIUM Individual work stations will be set up along all the sittings, creating small oasis to isolate themselves while remaining in contact with the surroun- ding environment. VR viewers, accessible to all users, will be secured into specific shelves carved inside the stairs, which, dragged forward, also form a small table. STUDYING OASIS The flexibility of space is given by the possibility of occupying the areas in different ways at the same time, without any prescription. Students will be able to meet up in the common areas, where modular furniture, made by triangular tables, will be assembled together. Moreover, the stepped wooden structure is modeled in plan and in elevation in order to provide a variety of gathering spaces with various uses and several different sitting spots. COMMON SPACE LIGHT-AIR The absence of vertical partitions allows a horizontal air recirculation, helped by the maintenance of the conditioning system. It also permits natural illumination, to which neon lights are added, formaly reflecting the plan. PIAZZA The library of the future portrays a public gathering place. The absence of walls creating a large free central space assimilate it to a piazza, surrounded by public life and more private spots. ACCESSIBILITY Ramps surround the piazza and guarantee access to anyone, everywhere. There is no main path or routes hierarchy: ramps and steps allow total freedom in the whole environment. VISIBILITY Free space means to be able to see what is happening nearly in every spot around, permitting visual comunication between people at the various altitudes.
