The standard chute is a sloped chute, but custom designs can be made according to the shape of the cargo.
In the feeding area, cargo is detected by the area sensor, and sent smoothly and reliably to the sorting and transfer section via connectivity with the tracking conveyor.
This device detects malfunctions such as when cargo gets caught on the shoe.As a result, sorting errors are prevented before they can occur, bringing the error rate infinitely closer to zero.
As this method involves smoothly sliding a triangular shoe, and sorting by pushing cargo toward its target station, objects are gently sorted without any risk of damage.
High-level sorting abilityHigh-performance sorting boasting a maximum of 7000 items per hour (machine capacity) can be demonstrated under the following conditions: a transfer speed of 70m/minute and a cargo length of 230mm.

When feeding products, items of the same product are bundled together in a batch of an arbitrarily chosen number, which is placed on a single tray fed in as a [tray unit]. This makes it possible to drastically increase processing quantity per hour. For example, if 3 items are placed on a single tray and 5000 trays are fed in an hour, the quantity processed would be 15000, or simply triple that of piece unit feeding. However, we do not currently have equipment capable of detecting errors caused when workers place items on the trays.
1) When product barcodes are scanned at feeding stations, screen ① is displayed. Normally, products are fed in as-is.
2) When the "batch select" button is pressed on screen ①, the screen changes to batch select screen ②. On this screen, possible batch numbers "3" and "2" are displayed. *These numbers can also be changed. (Numbers between 2 and 999 are possible.)
3) When "2" is selected on screen ② and the "confirm" button is pressed, the screen changes to screen ③. On this screen, it is indicated that tray units can be fed 16 times with batch number: 2. If at any point you decide to change the batch number, you can press the "batch select" button on screen ③ to return to batch select screen ②. After 16 tray units have been fed, you will automatically be returned to screen ①.

PAS Iα with its enhanced specifications can support up to 10kg, enabling batch feeding of heavy piece items such as liquids.Batch feeding is a system in which a new sorting unit called [optional batch quantity unit] can be set at will.Higher efficiency is achieved by placing items of the same product onto a tray so that multiple items can be fed at once.

Because PAS is an auto-sorting system that uses conveyors, there are restrictions on cargo size and weight. DAS relies on manual sorting by workers, making it ideal for batch order picking of products that cannot be sorted with PAS.
Because PAS and DAS sorting data are shared, there is no need to create sorting data specifically for DAS, and work can be performed concurrently. Because PAS and DAS sorting data are shared, there is no need to create sorting data for DAS, and work can be performed concurrently. (In this case, the DAS management PC also becomes unnecessary.) Although it is common practice to attach barcodes onto the folding containers used in centers, in this system IC tags are attached instead and read via an IC tag reader.
In case of barcodes, a fixed barcode reader is used so attention must be paid to where the barcode is attached. Also, during extended periods of operation, the barcode may get dirty or peel and cause errors. In case of IC tags, there is no such problem, and there is potential for system upgrades in the future due to IC tags being writable.

In recent years, PCs have become increasingly more powerful, integrated, and smaller. In line with this progress, the interval between model changes has become extremely short. This tends to create unexpected obstacles for general-use PCs in particular. Currently, PC manufacturer warranties last for 3 years, but in the event of a breakdown, tech support often processes your request the next business day (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) or later. Moreover, there is no reception on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and between the end of the year and New Year's, extending the stretch of days you cannot used the system. At HOKUSHO, our "PC repair service" was designed specifically for these types of circumstances with the purpose of restoring your system from a breakdown as quickly as possible. We established a maintenance contract with a PC manufacturer so that in case of an emergency, the PC manufacturer will dispatch their service staff promptly to perform repair work at your site.
●Because contract costs will differ based on PC models and specifications, please request estimates.※Normally, 2 general-use PCs (mirroring specification) would cost 120,000+ yen annually.
●If you subscribe to this service, you will receive a simultaneous subscription to our remote repair service and can use both services. Users who have a subscription to our preventative inspection service can use our 24-hour reception service. Contracts are annual, and must be renewed every year. However, coverage for 1 year from when the system was installed is provided at no cost, and the contract takes effect from the second year onward. If you have a contract, you will not be charged with the cost of labor inducted for on-site repairs and replacement parts expenses. However, you will be charged separately for work involving reinstallation of operating software and configuration of operating environment settings.
PAS comes standard-equipped with a control PC that controls data management, data creation, and situation assessment, as well as other external devices.In the rare case the PC breaks down, it may not only interfere with work, but also result in data loss. At HOKUSHO, in an attempt to automate some of the various tasks performed by our "PAS" Piece Assorting System, developed in October 1996, we positioned robots to permanently stand by the feeding conveyor, and constructed an auto-feeding demo line at our Hakusan Factory.
7-axis dual-arm robot (manufactured by Yasukawa Electric Corporation)
Effects of robot installationProcessing at the level of a skilled worker (approx. 1000 pieces per hour with demo clothing) is possible. The robots are capable of moving around, and can be used just for the peak season or to cope with shifts in distribution volume, and even fill in for workers.
Auto-feeding via robotsYasukawa 7-axis dual-arm robots are installed next to the feeding conveyor and tasked with auto-feeding. The robots use the tips of their arms to grasp and pick up items such as envelopes and clothing, then the attached barcode is read, and the item is placed on top of the conveyor belt.

Operating it is easy, and does not require a specialist operator, allowing anyone to use it as a tool.
