Q: Was Piedmont flexible with your customization ideas?A: Margot Lebow: “Oh, yes! The Piedmont
team enjoyed the process of creating
our new home just as much as we did!
They gave us so much flexibility.”
“Absolutely,” Jesse adds. “We were
able to make it highly personalized.
We bought the [single family] Addison
model, but in the end, Piedmont built a
Lebow-Bonfeld home.”
Q: So, it’s safe to say that Piedmont put you at ease through the building process?A: Jesse Bonfeld: “Definitely. And you
have to remember, we were building this
new home from 100 miles away, so it’s
not like we could just stop by any time.
But we still never felt out of touch.”
“That’s so true,” Margot adds. “If we had
a question, it was answered the same
day, usually within hours.”
Chatting with Margot and Jesse, you
get a clear sense that these two global
thinkers are very, very happy with their
decision to live in Charlottesville, and

No matter where life takes Margot and
Jesse around the world, they’re assured

argot and Jesse are both New yorkers by birth, and they’ve been just about everywhere else since. She is the retired Vice President of a
worldwide travel agency in the DC area;
he is the Vice President of Business
Development for a British technology
company. As cosmopolitan, international
people, it’s no surprise they chose a
cosmopolitan small city like Charlottes-
ville —and a homebuilder like Piedmont.
Margot Lebow was no stranger to Char-
lottesville before moving here. Her son,
a UVA grad, his wife and Margot’s new
grandson call Charlottesville home, just
under two hours from her home in the DC
suburbs. Her husband Jesse Bonfeld lived
for years in Arizona before relocating
east to be with Margot. Jesse can work
from anywhere in his international
career, so all he needed was easy
airport access…and a place to live that
had heart, soul, and brains, too. That
all explains why Charlottesville and
Piedmont made their perfect new address.
Q: What was the best part of working with Piedmont to build your new home?A: Jesse Bonfeld: “The level of confi-
dence and trust. You just saw that the

doing. Buying from other builders, even
national builders as I have, you have
