STUDENT WORK _UNIVERSITY & RESIDENTIAL QUARTER_COLLE ERZELLI, GENOA_2007
Colle Erzelli rises up on the west end of Genoa. Nowadays, its area is a disused container depot. The project aim is the devising of a new quarter which includes
housing complex and university buildings. The residential area occupies the southern extremity of the hill so that the sea view is provided to all the residences.
The complex consists of four residence typologies. The first ones face directly the sea and arrange themselves along the contour lines. Two 18 floors towers,
called Propylaeum, mark out the start of the main street which develops throughout the new quarter. Along this street, rise the third typology buildings, while the
northern part of the housing complex ends with two towers that, on account of their highness, stand out in sharp relif against the other buildings. From this square,
the main street proceeds northward and changes direction to align itself with the university buildings. Propylaeum residence has been particularly deepened, even
arranging its apartment typologies.

STUDENT WORK_NEW STATION AREA_PREGNANA MILANESE_2007
This project relates to an urban planning for the City of Pregnana Milanese, a town located in the western hinterland of Milan, surrounded by important infra-
structures and close to Milan Fair. After an analysis concerning the viability and the green areas that interest the town, the project focus moved finally to the area
where will rise the new station and a new residential quarter. The main assumption has been to create continuos cicle and pedestrian tracks that develop from the
square in front of the new station throughout the public spaces encompassed amongst the residences. In the northern side of the quarter rise a civic center with
an open theatre and a nursery school. Furthermore, next to these two last buildings are placed vegetable gardens.

STUDENT WORK_LEVANTE FAIR NEW PAVILION_BARI_2008
The project concerns the working plan of a new pavilion for Bari Fair. This is placed on a 16700 sqm area. The main aim was to obtain an outcome featuring
great flexibility and, on the other hand, a modern and technological aspect. This brought to a solution that is complitely clear of interior pillars or structural ele-
ments. The objective has been achieved with the employment of trusses 80 metres long, leaning onto a couple of steel pillars and supported by stays on each side.
The lack of interior supports allows to set up more than one event at a time gaining the ability to design freely their spaces. Concerning the structure, the pavilion
is composed of nine trusses, arranged 24 metres one from the other, over which are hinged the secondary beams. All the elements has been fully studied, drewn
and dimensioned.

GRADUATION THESIS_RETRACTABLE SHADING AWNING SYSTEM_POLITECNICO DI MILANO_2010
This work concerns the design of a retractable awnings system that has the purpose to shade the terrace above the reading room of Campus Leonardo, the
eldest area of Politecnico di Milano University, known as piazza Gardella. The project starting data is to provide the terrace with elements that have the capability
to screen its surface from sunbems during summer months. The final project consits of a steel cable structure that spans all over piazza Gardella surface. The
structure supports seven awnings that has the capability to fold and take cover under a new metal roof placed on top of the walkway that crosses the terrace.
The retractable awnings system offers an answer to the imporvement of the terrace users comfort and, furthermore, it makes a feature of the surrounding
space. The new structure lays itslef lightly down onto the project area and it combines with the existing architectural background without contrasts, enhacing the
excellent aspects and curing the main issues.

PERSONAL WORK_MEMBANE STRUCTURE HAWKY_STRESA_2011
Hawky is a structure suited to the shading of a lawn placed along the lakeside of Stresa, a town situated on the shores of Lake Maggiore, Italy. The two
outstanding elements of the project are the frame mast and the bowed-tapered truss beam linked toghether by three stays. These support a PVC membrane with
a surface of 45 sm which provides 32.5 sm of covered area. The side extremities of the membrane are connected to steel pillars. The structure, which resembles
an hawk, is 12 m width and reach the highness of 7.5 m. It is oriented with the more aerodynamic back facing the lake from where blow the main winds, while the
front overlooks the lakeside and the hills behind it. This solution eases the structure response to wind stress.
