ABS Anti-Blocking System

Your laminator is equipped with an Anti-Blocking System. If the pouch was not inserted straight or it becomes jammed in the machine, push the ABS switch 6 toward the left. You can then take the laminating pouch and its contents out of the machineandreinsertthedocumentinanewpouchintothefilmfeedslot 4 .

General instructions about the laminator

Please read the manual before using the machine.

Please note! Whenusingthemachine,youmayfinditgivesoffaslightodour.Pleaseensurethereissufficientventilationintheroom,e.g. by opening a window.

A laminator is not a toy.Keep it locked away from children!

Getting ready to laminate

- Site the machine so that there is enough space to insert the laminating pouches (in other words, not right in front of a wall or other objects).- Insert the plug into an earthed power socket (120 V = domestic power supply).- Switch the machine on using the ON/OFF switch.- SelecteitherhotorcoldlaminationbyflippingtheHOT/COLDswitch 2 to the desired position. Note: Your laminator supports lamination of 3mil and 5mil (80mic and 125mic)filmwithoutmode-switching.- The ready indicator 3 will turn from blue to red once the laminator has reached the correct temperature. The preheating time can vary depending on the ambient temperature and air humidity.




General tips on laminating

After laminating 1. Set the on/off toggle switch 1 to “off”. 2. Pull the mains plugs from its socket. 3. Leave the machine to cool before storing.

Cleaning the rollers 1. Switch on the machine. 2. FoldasheetofA4paperandinsertthis,foldededgefirst,intothepouch feed tray 4 . Keep repeating this process until no more glue deposits cling to the paper.

Cleaning the machine 1. Always remove the mains plug from its socket before cleaning the machine. 2. Let the machine cool down. 3. Always clean the machine with a soft cloth. Use neutral cleansing agents, never abrasives.

- Please note! Only take one pouch per lamination, as pouches stick tightly together. Place the document that you wish to laminate between thetwosidesofthelaminatingpouch.Ensurethatitliesflushwiththe closed edge.- Insertthelaminatingpouchclosed-edge-firstintotheslot 4 on the back of the machine. The rollers will automatically pull the pouch in and transport it to the output slot 5 on the front of the machine. Don’t use force to pull out the samples. In the event of jamming, see the ABS section.- Let the pouch cool for a bit, and then it’s ready.- If the laminating pouch has not adhered properly to the paper, repeat the process.

How to laminate




Cold laminating

Pleasenotethatonlypouchesintendedspecificallyforcoldlaminationmaybeused. Originals with a treated surface, such as fax thermopaper or Polaroid pictures, and papers with surfaces that may be altered through heat should onlybe laminated using cold lamination. In these cases, set the temperature switch 2 to position “COLD”. Slide the foils,with the item to be laminated between them, into the feed slot 4 .

Please note!Afterhotlamination,wait20-30minutesafterflippingthetemperature switch 2 to “COLD“ to allow the unit to cool down before you start cold laminating.

Storage

The best way to store the machine when not in use is in the original packaging.Keep the machine in a dry location away from sources of heat.

Disposal

The product packaging is recyclable. Dispose of this with due regard for the environment. When no longer serviceable, the machine should not be thrown away with the household garbage, but disposed of in line with legal requirements.This is in the interests of recycling and protecting the environment. Ask your local authority waste department or your local disposal company about suitable disposal options. Before disposal ensure that the machine is rendered unusable.Disconnect the machine from the power supply and remove the mains cable.




Safety advice and maintenance

- The device should only be connected to a properly installed 120 V power point. Any adapter or extension cable must be easily accessible so that it can be detached from the mains if necessary.

- Never insert any other objects other than laminating pouches that are intended for this device, particularly metallic objects, into the pouch insertion slots.

- Keep away from children.- Protect the device from moisture. The location of use must also be dry. Damp

documents should not be laminated. In the case of emergency, always pull the plug out from the mains.

- The product is not designed for commercial use.- The device generates heat when laminating. Strong sunshine or indoor heating

can exacerbate this situation and can cause the device to become faulty. In such cases, you should also pull the plug out from the mains immediately.

- The device has ventilation slots. These should not be covered up with other objects such as magazines, cloths, etc.

- After use, switch the device off, and then always pull the plug out from the mains.

- The device automatically switches off if it overheats.- Only laminate at room temperatures (approx. 50–77°F).- The device should never be connected if the cable is damaged.- Plastic bags can present a danger. To avoid any danger of suffocation, keep

the bag away from babies and children.- Please clean this machine only with a damp cloth.

Prepararse para plastificar

- Coloquelamáquinaenunlugarqueofrezcasuficienteespaciopara introducirlasfundasdeplastificación(asaber,nodelantedeunaparedu otros objetos).- Conecte el enchufe en una toma conectada a tierra (120 V = suministro eléctrico doméstico).- Conecte la máquina empleando el interruptor ON/OFF.- Elijabienlaplastificaciónencalienteoenfrío,moviendoelconmutador HOT/COLD 2 a la posición deseada. Tenga en cuenta:Suplastificadoraapoyalaplastificacióndepelículasde 3mil y 5mil (80 y 125 micras) sin conmutación de modo.- El indicador de Listo 3 cambiadeazularojounavezquelaplastificadora haya alcanzado la temperatura correcta. El tiempo de precalentamiento puede variar en función de la temperatura ambiente y de la humedad atmosférica.




Consejos generales para plastificar

Despuésdelaplastificación 1. Lleve el interruptor basculante 1 a “off”. 2. Desenchufar el enchufe de la toma. 3. Permita que la máquina enfríe antes de almacenarla.

Limpieza de los rodillos 1. Conecte la máquina. 2. Pliegue una hoja de papel de tamaño A4 e insértela, con el borde plegado primero, en la bandeja alimentadora de fundas 4 . Repita este procesa hasta que ya no haya restos de cola pegados al papel.Limpieza de la máquina 1. Siempredesenchufelaplastificadoraantesdelimpiarla. 2. Permita que la máquina enfríe. 3. Limpie la máquina siempre con un paño blando. Utilice agentes neutrales de limpieza y en ningún caso abrasivos.

- ¡Tenga en cuenta! Sóloutiliceunafundaporplastificacióndadoquelas juntasestánmuypegadas.Coloqueeldocumentoquedeseaplastificar entrelasdoscarasdelafundadeplastificación.Cercióresedequeesté a ras con el borde adjunto.- Insertelafundadeplastificaciónconelbordecerradoadelanteenla rendija 4 en el dorso de la máquina. Los rodillos introducen automáticamente la funda y la transportan a la rendija de salida 5 en el lado delantero de la máquina. No utilice fuerza para extraer las muestras. En caso de un atascamiento, vea el apartado ABS.- Permita que la funda enfríe un poco, luego estará lista.- Silafundadeplastificaciónnoquedaadheridadebidamentealpapel,repita el proceso.

Cómo plastificar




Plastificación en frío

Tengaencuentaquedebenemplearsesólofundasprevistasespecíficamenteparalaplastificaciónenfrío.Losoriginalesconunasuperficietratada,talescomopapeltérmicodefaxofotografíasPolaroidasícomopapelesconsuperficiesquepuedenseralteradasporelcalor,debenserplastificadasconlaplastificaciónenfrío. En tales casos, ajuste el conmutador de temperatura 2 a la posición “COLD”. Introduzca las láminas con el objeto a ser laminado entre éstas en la #rendija de alimentación 4 .¡Tenga en cuenta! Después de la laminación en caliente, espere 20 a 30 minutos después de llevar el conmutador de temperatura 2 a “COLD“ para que la unidad puedaenfriarantesdecomenzaraplastificarenfrío.

Almacenamiento

La mejor manera para almacenar la máquina cuando no se emplea es en suenvase original. Mantenga la máquina en un lugar seco alejado de fuentes de calor.

Eliminación

El envase del producto puede reciclarse. Elimínelo debidamente teniendo en cuenta el medio ambiente. Cuando ya no puede emplearse la máquina, ésta no debe eliminarse con la basura doméstica, sino con arreglo a los requisitos legales.Ello atiende los intereses del reciclaje y la protección del medio ambiente. Consulte a su departamento de residuos o su empresa local de gestión de residuos acerca de opciones adecuadas de eliminación. Antes de la eliminación debe cuidar que la máquina ya no puede emplearse. Desconecte la máquina de la corriente eléctrica y quite el cable de red.

calefacción dentro d ela casa exacerbar esta situación provocando una falla del aparato. En tales casos, debe asimismo desenchufar el aparato inmediatamente.

- El dispositivo cuenta con ranuras de ventilación. Éstas no deben taparse con otros objetos como revistas, vestimenta, etc.

- Después del uso debe desconectar el aparato y luego desenchufarlo siempre.- El equipo se desconecta siempre automáticamente si se calienta excesiva-

mente.- Sóloplastificaratemperaturaambiente(50–77°Faprox.)(10-25°C)aprox.).- El equipo no debe conectarse nunca si el cable está dañado.- Las bolsas de plástica pueden ser peligrosas. Para evitar todo peligro de aho-

gamiento, mantenga la bolsa alejada de bebés y niños.- Por favor, limpie esta máquina sólo con un paño húmedo..
