Thank you! A quick and easy way to freshen up the look of a bedroom is to

change the pillowcases. Simple, right? So put away those ho-hum

basic pillowcases that came with your sheet set and create a special

pair of your own!

Our pattern Features 3 design details – piping, border trim, and

contrast hem – making these cases far from ordinary! With so many

gorgeous quilting weight cottons, you may want to make several sets!

Instructions: 1. Cut out the pillowcase pieces. Amounts are in inches. The measurements below are for 1 pillowcase.

Attach the pillowcase front and pillowcase back along the top edge. Place right sides together and

align the raw edges of along the top edge of the main pillowcase pieces. Pin in place.

Stitch seam. Finish seam.

Press seam open.

2. Attach the border front and border back along the top seam.

Place right sides together and align the raw edges of along

the top edge of the pillowcase border pieces. Pin in place.

Stitch seam. Finish seam.

Press seam open.

3. Attach piping to pillowcase. Press piping in half

lengthwise.

Pin piping to right edge of main pillowcase. Align the

raw edge of the piping with the raw edge of the main

pillowcase.

Stitch piping to main pillowcase.

4. Attach border to pillowcase. Place right sides together.

Align raw edges of the border with the raw edge of the

main pillowcase/piping. Pin in place.

Sew seam.

Finish seam.

Press seam open.

5. Sew end and bottom of pillowcase.

Place right sides together. Align raw

edges.

Sew seam. Serge Seam.

Press seam.

6. Hem pillowcase with contrast hem. Staystitch 3/8 inch from one long edge. Press under along

stitching.

Sew together along short ends.

Turn hem band wrong-side out. Place hem band over

border with right sides together. Match bottom

seams.

Stitch seam. Finish seam.

Fold hem in place. Press. Pin in place. Stitch hem in

place.
