1 Introduction Pilot Pioneer is DingLi's multi-technology laptop-based radio access network's test and
measurement tool. It is an integrated all-purpose product that can be used for indoor measurement
and in-vehicle outdoor drive testing. Various services tests can be conducted with a wide range of
the latest supported commercial test terminals. Pilot Pioneer test and measurement capability is
applicable throughout the network development lifecycle, therefore allowing network and service
provider to fully leverage on their investment. The collected data reflects subscriber's perceptions
and experience, enabling network operators to fine tune the network to maximize subscriber's
satisfaction.
Pilot Pioneer V10.1 introduces the following new functions and features:
• VoLTE test with Samsung and iPhone
• Carrier Aggregation test
• Single site verification
• Private server for HTTP Upload test
• Huawei mLAB vMOS test
• Drag parameters under Message Details to Table
• Templates import/export
• Hard dongle license query and software online update
New terminals are added in this version:
• SAMSUNG S7 G9300
• SAMSUNG S7 edge G9350
• Nubia Z11 Mini NX529J
• HTC 10

2.1 New Features
2.1.1 DCF Data Format
DCF data format is capable of higher storage performance and flexible scalability. It is also
gradually integrated with the rest of Dingli product portfolio as a standard unified data format.
2.1.2 New Supported Terminals for VoLTE Test
In addition to Nubia, HTC and Huawei, VoLTE test is also supported by Samsung S7 and iPhone 6s
in this version. During a VoLTE test, the SIP messages may be decoded and the POLQA based MOS
value can be displayed. The Samsung S7 also supports ViLTE test and generates corresponding
statistics reports for VoLTE test and ViLTE test.

2.1.3 Carrier Aggregation Test
Multiple FDD-LTE/TDD-LTE CA modes, downlink 3CC, uplink 2CC, Qualcomm and Hisilicon
chipset-based CA test are supported in this version.
The following measurement information and events can be displayed in real-time:
• CA measurement, network resource allocation, network quality, data rate, etc.
• Key events, such as secondary component carrier (CC) modification, CA handover, and
secondary CC activation.
Customized CA statistics reports are also supported in this version.
Supported CA terminals are: Samsung S7 G9300/9308 (compatible with FDD-LTE and TCC-LTE
CA)
2.1.4 Single Site Verification
A Single Site Verification test with CS and PS call can be done on a newly commission site (or

eNodeB) to verify its initial coverage and performance. The verification is a three stage process that
includes test, statistics and analysis, and report generation, to complete the single site verification.
2.1.5 High-speed Rail Test with GPS Trajectory
Compensation*
With the rapid development of rail transport, railway mobile network test is becoming more critical.
Traditional mobile network test and measurement devices however is unable to solve the problem
of poor or blocked GIS positioning in the high-speed rail or subway, which therefore impedes the
mobile network coverage and quality optimization effort. Pilot Pioneer V10.1 supports high-speed
rail test which compensates test routes with GPS signal lost in real time.

2.1.6 Private Server for HTTP Upload Test
The previous HTTP Upload service test is mainly conducted with YouTube, but the requirement of
privacy by YouTube has become increasingly high. The HTTP Upload service is therefore no longer
tested with YouTube, as the website protocol is frequently changed. Dingli however has developed
the private server for HTTP Upload test.
2.1.7 Huawei mLAB vMOS Test
Dingli cooperates with Huawei MBB to develop the Huawei vMOS technology. Pilot Pioneer v10.1
has the privilege to introduce and support Huawei Mobile vMOS, which evaluates video quality
with vMOS score. The vMOS video experience evaluation (e.g. vMOS scores) is designed to take
into consideration the video source quality, start loading time, stalling ratio, and video play duration.
2.1.8 USB Test Box with Integrated Test Module
The USB test box with an integrated test module can be used and connected as one of Pilot Pioneer

test devices. Features such as "set test band as required by users " and "configure CA 2CC as
required by users" enable the USB test box to be used for the initial verification of newly deployed
network. In addition, the USB test box also supports VoLTE test, network locking, band locking
and cell locking and provides more test functionalities for the single site acceptance upon connection
with Pilot Pioneer.
2.1.9 Drag Parameters from Message Details to Table
For those parameters which are not listed in the Table, users may drag the parameters from Message
Details to Table to conveniently view any measurement updates.
2.1.10 Templates Import/Export
Pilot Pioneer supports templates import/export function. The templates that can be
imported/exported include: report templates, analysis templates, filter templates and parameters
templates. It is convenient for sharing templates between multiple Pilot Pioneer Expert users, or
between different versions of Pilot Pioneer Expert, and it is easy to import user-defined templates
to the updated version or to different computers.
2.1.11 Hard Dongle License Query
Pilot Pionner V10.1 supports Hard Dongle License Query and Online Upgrade. Hard Dongle Serial
Number, Expiration Date, Granted Permissions and Online Upgrade are displayed in the Hard
Dongle License Query window.
2.1.12 Online Software Update
Pilot Pioneer supports online update, which enables customers to update software in a convenient
way. Users may update the patches with designated version of Pilot Pioneer in an intelligent way or
install a new software version.

All the new devices support "Automatic Detection" where devices can be automtically detected
and configured. New terminals are added in this version:

3 Corrected Bugs The following bugs have been fixed:
• *rcu logfiles partition by time causes poor or blocked GPS signal in the previous version.
• The corresponding parameter group cannot be synchronized in the navigation pane of Param
when the parameter group under the Parameter Settings is modified in the previous version.
• Some event names in the Event window cannot be unified with the names under the Event
Details in the previous version.
• The data cannot be transferred based on "unit" and "data type (decimal, hexadecimal, etc.)" in
the Parameters Search under the Table

4.1 TCP/IP Sniffer in 64-Bit Windows
The TCP/IP sniffer function now supports 64-bit windows for data service test.

4.2 Multi-Terminal Supported
Pilot Pioneer V10.1 supports a maximum of six iOS-based terminals (iPhone 6/6 Plus, iPhone
6S/6S Plus) for voice, data, or combined service tests.
4.3 Improved Scanner Test Configuration
Interface
The Scanner service test configuration interface is improved with detailed Pilot scan types (e.g.
Pilot-TopN, Pilot-UserList, Pilot-Power Analysis).

4.4 Improved Table Functions
The table functions are improved in this version, which include:
• Drag a parameter to change the order
• Display all parameter values based on the sampling period of a selected parameter
