St Martin news continued…
During “Domestic Violence Month” branch
members wore some form of the color “purple”
and took a stand for action, bringing attention to
the issue of domestic violence. The battered
women’s movement in the United States began
in the early 1970’s; however, sadly enough
studies have shown that 1 in 3 women have been
impacted by intimate partner violence in some
form. We can all empower women to stand up
against domestic violence for themselves by no
longer living in silence.
