What is PingOut?

• The PingOut table is an installment meant to socially engage the public.

• The PingOut table’s construction and material ensures its outdoor durability for many years without maintenance. The table is welded together, so that it appears as one single installment without any weak parts, that can potentially be damaged.

• The PingOut table gives an extra dimension to the outdoor life of the city’s streets and parks – physical activity, competitions and an aesthetic experience.

• Table tennis is a sport for everyone - all levels of experience and all ages can meet around-the-table.

• The PingOut table is placed with a crane and due to its weight of 700 kg, it is stable and secured from theft, ready to be taken into use without any prior construction of foundation.

More than just table tennis

Our mission is to invite people to meet and together engage in physical activity in the public space, and hopefully with people they might not already know. Table tennis is a fun sport and the PingOut table acts as a small oasis in the public space, where it’s okay to engage in conversation with strangers, and where you are able to let your guard down.

For us, the activity around the table is just as important as the game of table tennis itself, by giving bypassers the opportunity to stop and observe. We believe in the opportunity of meeting randomly and that the combination of sport, design, quality and art will bring value to the public space.

The PingOut table is designed to be more than just a table tennis table. If desired, it can be turned into a piece of artwork. The large surfaces of the table gives room to be decorated and we will gladly connect our customers with the

large network of artists and designers we have accumulated through the years. Our wish is that the table gives aesthetic and social value wherever it is situated.

The painted tables are made to order and comes in all RAL colors. To obtain the most favorable circumstances for a table tennis game, we suggest colors that contrast with the white/orange table tennis ball. The color can also be chosen with the surroundings in mind.

Marianne G. Bargeman, department director, National Gallery of Denmark

“The table tennis tables engage our audience. At Roskilde Festival, which is the context the tables were created for, people realized that art can be fun - that art is not seperated from life, but is a part of it. It was really an eye-opener for many of the young people at the festival.”
