GETTING READY FOR LENT

It’s nearly time for Lent,

when many of us will reflect

on how we live, perhaps

making some practical

changes as we prepare to

celebrate new life at Easter.

Here are some things you

can do or join in with.

Pancake Party: The Dings

discipleship group are

inviting neighbours to share

pancakes and chat about life

on February 21st. Why not

do the same at your house?

Meeting Jesus: Jo and Matt

Wr ight are inv i t ing

neighbours to a simple bible

study course looking at

Jesus in the Gospels and

finishing with watching “The

Passion” near Easter.

Fasting: You can get a

different view of life and the

world around us by joining

Tearfund’s Carbon Fast.

There are leaflets on the

Fairtrade Stall today for

anyone interested.

PRAYER FOR THE UK

MONEY STORIES

• Court bans prayers at

formal council meetings

• Christians lose appeal in

B&B case

• Government plans to

redefine marriage

• Proposed changes to the

law on assisted suicide

Our Christian heritage is

under attack by those who

want a secular Britain.

Christ ians are being

penalised for their beliefs.

Family life is falling apart.

The weak, elderly and

vulnerable are threatened.

You are welcome to join a

group who meet weekly to

intercede for our nation,

bringing such topics to God

in prayer on Tuesdays, 8 –

9.30 pm in the lounge.

REAL EASTER EGGS

There is still a little time to

order these at £3.99 each.

for the persecuted church.
