RedlineRedline is the latest in epoxy lining for potable water, fire systems or pressure pipes from 12mm to 300mm, Redline is a simple restoration technique that completely coats the inside of pipes preventing leaks and pipe corrosion. Unlike conventional repair options this process, Redlining can be managed to ensure minimum disruption to business operations or homes.

How we startedNuflow in Australia, New Zealand and India was started by Ed Ahern. With over 34 years experience in the plumbing and pipeline industry, Ed Ahern has successfully owned and operated almost 20 companies. During this time, Ed has developed extensive experience within the construction plumbing, pipeline and civil drainage sectors, and has completed numerous projects throughout Australia.

Ed experimented with an Australian relining system, while using the system he discovered its limitations and set out to find a better system or develop one that was much more versatile. This led him to Nuflow Technologies, a Canadian company claiming to repair damaged pipes, bends, traps and even junctions. Ed was impressed with the technology and negotiated a deal to service the entire South East Asia area.

In the ten years since it was founded, Nuflow has grown to become the specialists in pipe relining and now provide services across Australia, New Zealand and India

We manufacture all resins and custom-made liners and employ many local engineers to help us design some of the unique tools of our niche business. Our full time manufacturing team is dedicated to speed, efficiency and quality product and delivery to our customers. Licensed InstallersWe have a select group of highly skilled licensees installing our products. Nuflow has expanded organically; a network of many family-owned and operated businesses that have come together through the same vision - that ‘there must be a better way’ than to excavate.

Every installer undergoes extensive training, and twice a year come together to share insights on the latest techniques and ideas. We now have close to 40 licensed installers Australia and New Zealand. We are now looking for installers to join us in India.

You will never have toworry about leaking, brokenor blocked sewerage and stormwater pipes again.Utilising the latest technologies in pipe camera investigations, high pressure jet cleaning and epoxy resins, we can find and solve any problem with your drainage system. Blueline, a cure-in-place pipe rehabilitation process, is the most versatile relining system in the world. We can structurally repair all types of pipes from PVC to clay or copper to concrete in diameters from 40mm to 1000mm utilising Blueline with minimal disruption to operations. If you have sewerage, stormwater, industrial waste or potable water pipes under tons of concrete or factory floors, this presents no problem for Nuflow. Almost any shape pipe can be relined utilising Blueline, including vertical or horizontal, square or round pipes, 90 degree bends and junctions. Nuflow are the specialists in Lateral Connection Liners (LCL) for any type of junction as Blueline has the ability to completely line the whole junction in one step. With Blueline you will never have to worry about broken, cracked or blocked sewerage, stormwater, industrial waste or potable pipe again.

How it Works The cause of your drainage problem is identified and then jetted until the pipe is clear of any blockages. Once this has been completed, a Nuflow liner is pulled into place and inflated with an internal rubber bladder. It is left to cure and when the bladder is removed, the pipe functions as new.

Case study: CommercialA busy train route was under threat as the tracks ran over a main sewer line that was in extremely poor condition. Closing the tracks would have resulted in major disruptions to commuters.

Work PerformedCleared and Bluelined 41m of 150mm Clay and PVC sewer line which was badly broken and had seriously displaced joints for Queensland Rail.

BenefitsThe pipe ran from a manhole, underneath two sets of railway tracks, to another manhole located in a car park. It was several meters deep and excavation would have required closing down the train lines that run from Brisbane to the Gold Coast. The cost of diverting the commuters alone would have outweighed the cost of relining. Nuflow was able to Blueline the entire length, without any excavation and disruption to the train system, station amenities or commuter services.

The Sewer RelineAfter carrying out the initial CCTV inspection, Nuflow was able to verify the problem as being several badly displaced joins and cracks with roots intrusion throughout. Almost every join along the 41m of sewer line showed various degrees of these problems.

Using our Blueline pipe relining technology and Hot Water Cure Systems, the line was structurally rehabilitated in less than 24 hours utilising a three man crew. The whole time during the works the railway line and station remained fully operational.

AlternativesAn alternative to the relining of this project would have been to excavate the area and replace the pipe. This would have involved closing the railway lines and car park. In addition, these works would have caused major disruption to train commuters.

Case study: ResidentialThe sewer line of this brand new house was completely broken, allowing gravel to enter the pipe, undermining the integrity of the slab.

Work PerformedBluelined 1m of 100mm PVC sewer line that was filled with gravel due to a serious break.

BenefitsThis sewer line wasn’t three months old and ran under a brand new house that had only recently become occupied by the new owners. The PVC section causing all the problems was completely broken away leaving over half a metre of void space with no pipe. This caused gravel to fill the line and undermine the house slab. Nuflow was able to rehabilitate the pipe utilising our Blueline technology without any excavation and disruption and have the sewer unblocked and working properly in less than a days work.

The Sewer RelineAfter carrying out the initial CCTV inspection, it was clear that we would need to spend some time removing the gravel from the line. There were eight bends and five junctions to navigate in the 30m between our two access points. Eventually, after cleaning the line, we were able to locate the problem as broken section of pipe approximately 11m from an inspection opening. A custome-made Blueline liner was inserted in the line, after a two hour curing period the bladder removed resulting in a rehabilitated pipe.

AlternativesAn alternative to the relining of this project would have been to excavate the area and replace the pipe. This would have involved removing the flooring surfaces and digging up the concrete house slab to access the pipe which was nearly a metre deep. These works would have caused major disruption to the occupants of this brand new house and may have resulted in significant reinstatements costs.

Utilising a simple and highly effective cured-in-place pipe restoration technique that completely coats the inside of your problem pipes, you will never have to worry about pipe corrosion, pinhole leaks or poor pressure again. Redline prevents future leaks while it protecting from lead, asbestos and other contaminates leached from your pipes into your water. Pipes with a nominal bore reduced to as little as 20 per cent, can be cleaned back out to nearly its full potential, then coated to reinstate its integrity, extending the life of your asset exponentially. Unlike conventional repair and replace options that can often cause a whole site to be shut down whilst work is performed, the Redline process can be managed to ensure minimum disruption to operations. Redline has been used successfully in a variety of applications including hospitals, high rise apartments, factories, fire suppression systems and domestic homes.

How it Works Redline is blown into cleaned pipes, forming a safe, evenly coated barrier between the host pipe and the product in the pipe. Redline is a preventative solution to leaks, prevents corrosion, water damage and mold growth, and maintains water flow. In addition, Redline acts as a permanent barrier to heavy metals leaching in drinking water lines from metal piping systems.

Case study: CommercialZupps car yard had experienced a major leak in the main water services underneath their service centre offices. This water line was located under bitumen parking area, concrete pathway and the length of a building.

Work PerformedNuflow Redlined the main water service line, in addition we Redlined from all fixtures in this building. We also carried out pressure tests on the system and provided pipe tracing to determine exactly where the pipes were located and their length.

BenefitsThe client engaged a leak detection company that was unable to locate the leak. The line beneath the building was going to have to be abandoned and the complete service line from the meter replaced. Nuflow was able to Redline the pipe from existing access points caus-ing no disturbance to the occupants of the building or disruption to business. There was also significant savings on the more traditional method of pipe replacement.

Degree of DifficultyThe most complicated task during the Redline process was that all the work was performed without our technicians being able to see the repair process. Our highly skilled terchnicians were able to line the complete line seal the break and renew the integrity of the pipe.

ResultsThe works were completed well within our estimated schedule. The system was pressure tested on completion and extended the life of the pipework for a additional 40 years.

AlternativesOnly other alternative was to dig up and replace the pipe system. This would have involved digging up the entire length of path , and bitu-men car park. Caused traffic problems major repairs to disturbed surfaces and be without water for a lengthy period. Clients customers would have incurred major disruptions over a lengthy period of time.

Case study: Residential15mm galvanised and copper potable water pipes were restored from 80% closure, due to corrosion, to their original state. Nuflow was contacted as the owners of the property were experiencing extremely poor water flow from all internal and external potable water outlets.

Work PerformedNuflow Redlined all the potable water pipes, from the meter to the internal pipe system within the house. This included 15mm galvanised external and 15mm copper hot and cold internal pipework. In addition, we also carried out pressure tests on the system and provided pipe tracing to determine exactly where the pipes were located and their length.

BenefitsThere was no disruption to the occupants of the home and significant savings on the more traditional method of pipe replacement.

Displacement of OccupantsThe occupants experience no displacement as all work was performed utilising existing access points, causing no disturbance or disruption to the occupants of the house.

Degree of DifficultyThe most complicated task during the Redline process was the cleaning of the external underground galvanised pipework. With 80% closure due to rust build up, we could of easily blocked the pipe totally during the cleaning process.

ResultsThe works were completed well within our estimated schedule. The pipes were restored from 80% closure rate to their original state, increasing the flow rate by over 100%. Redlining also put an end to rusting problems, increasing the life of pipes by over 50 years.

AlternativesOnly other alternative was to dig up and replace the pipe system. This would have involved digging up the gardens, rear patio, along with removing internal walls and damaging existing surfaces in the bathrooms and laundry.
