Drinking Through It Mascot / Team Name Explanation We decided, collaboratively, that the best mascot for our team would be beer glasses because we all bonded over drinks after class during our first semester at Chapman University in the credential program. We sustained our friendships at the bar after class through the entire program and were all thankful for the bonds we created. Through the credential/Masters program we found that having friends/peers who experienced similar struggles and successes made it easier. So, we drank (together) through it! Lindsey Greene I’m an Orange native; however, I took a bit of a detour and lived in Seattle for 6 years where I earned my BA in English writing. Chapman was the only university I wanted to attend to earn my teaching credential. I finished my student teaching last semester and I currently teach 10th grade English at my alma mater, Orange High School. When I’m not at school, teaching or learning, I drink a lot of coffee and blog about breakfast. Chad Petersen I am from Colorado and moved out to Orange to start the M.A.T. program two years ago. This last semester I finished my student teaching and am currently struggling through the TPAs. I am a big sports fan. I love watching most sports, especially football, baseball, basketball and hockey. Being from Colorado I am a fan of all the Colorado teams.

Drinking Through It

Mascot / Team Name Explanation We decided, collaboratively, that the best mascot for our team would be beer glasses because we all bonded over drinks after class during our first semester at Chapman University in the credential program. We sustained our friendships at the bar after class through the entire program and were all thankful for the bonds we created. Through the credential/Masters program we found that having friends/peers who experienced similar struggles and successes made it easier. So, we drank (together) through it!

Lindsey GreeneI’m an Orange native; however, I took a bit of a detour and lived in Seattle for 6 years where I earned my BA in English writing. Chapman was the only university I wanted to attend to earn my teaching credential. I finished my student teaching last semester and I currently teach 10th grade English at my alma mater, Orange High School. When I’m not at school, teaching or learning, I drink a lot of coffee and blog about breakfast.

Chad PetersenI am from Colorado and moved out to Orange to start the M.A.T. program two years ago. This last semester I finished my student teaching and am currently struggling through the TPAs. I am a big sports fan. I love watching most sports, especially football, baseball, basketball and hockey. Being from Colorado I am a fan of all the Colorado teams. I also play and coach baseball. I played throughout college and then began to coach high school when I was finished. I have been coaching in high school for four years now, including this summer when I coached the incoming freshman team to second place in the Legion C state tournament. I hope to continue coaching after I get a job teaching math in high school.

William NelsonI am a California native. I was raised in the LA area until I was in the fourth grade. I moved to Corona, CA with my family, and that is the city I still call home. I have three classes and a thesis left until I graduate with my masters degree in teaching. I am currently teaching 9th and 11th grade English at Norte Vista High School in Riverside. It is a lot of work, but I love what I do. I’m

a huge football fan, and an avid reader/writer when I have free time. I love movies and television as well.

Katie Pircher I am a Masters in Education student at Chapman University who recently got engaged in Bali, Indonesia. I plan to start (and finish) my Masters thesis this year while participating in a Technology course, (ahem) finishing my credential (ahem), substitute teaching at LBUSD and saving money for a Thailand wedding by working at a restaurant in Long Beach. Next year I hope for a classroom of my own!
