PLOTThe story starts with a father and his child walking around enjoying there day oblivious to the danger they are faced with. They pair enter the park where the child is seen having a good time under the watchful eye of the father. However he does not know that his former wife is lurking among the bushes. The mother has been sectioned and removed from society as she poses a threat to all. For the past three years the mother has been locked in a isolated asylum for murdering her daughter who is the twin of the child in the park. We do not know or find out why she killed her daughter four years previous leaving it to the audiences imagination to speculate. She has escaped the asylum the father had her put in and has returned to take her child back and seek revenge on the father. The father is first alarmed when the child points and says she saw ‘mummy’ which the father brushes off and denies but still seems agitated. Later on the pair return home and settle around the table for a meal which is soon interrupted by his phone going off and receiving a withheld number which he ignores. Immediately after he receives a stream of messages confirming the mothers escape. He begins to panic but attempts to hide this from his child as he searches for passports to flee the country. He is distracted once again when he see’s his former wife staring boldly through the window. This is followed by a knock at the door as the disequilibrium occurs and the lights begin to flicker and fail. A struggle is heard and through darkness as the child says ‘Mummy’.

Why Rogue Pictures? After discovering that Rogue Pictures is one of the leading subsidiaries for Relativity Media releasing a range of well known horror films which would fit well with our genre for our film ‘Mummy’. For example the release of ‘The Strangers’ in 2008 which budgeted $9 million and grossed $82,344,798. We believe our film would be of a similar success as we have a similar fan base with the same target audience. With you aiming to create high quality thriller products featuring the horror genre in attempt to reach the mainstream appeal. With you as our guidance we believe we are capable of creating a successful film with franchise potential such as your release of ‘The Unborn’. We believe that our film ‘Mummy’ would fit well with your brand identity and potentially become the next big horror/thriller grossing a good profit for both us and for you leading our film.

Why? Will it work? After looking into your existing products and product portfolio and comparing them to our idea for ‘Mummy’ as we attempt to create a film that has the same demand as ‘The Strangers’ and ‘Unborn’ which you have already released. Our film will feature all the typical conventions of a horror film which will keep it stereotypical and help appeal to the genre. For example we will feature a equilibrium which will be the happy father and child followed by a disequilibrium of the mother intervening. However in the trailer will not show the resolution as this will keep the audience keen to want to watch the film without spoiling the storyline. With your help ‘Mummy’ could potentially be the next big horror film to hit screens around the world. This is due to the stereotypical plot of the story featuring characters you develop sympathy and stronger emotions for.

How will it appeal the target audience? We will appeal to our target audience of young adults and teenagers through the use of relatable situations such as the park visit which is a everyday event which you can associate with as you do not expect anything bad to happen. This increases the shock factor when the disequilibrium takes place. The sense of mystery helps appeal to fans of the genre as they have to use there imagination
