Pitch - TheoryOutlining how our video follows

Goodwin’s theory on music videos and how we feel this will appeal to

your audience.

About our video• Our video will be partly illustration

but only on some parts of the lyrics where we’re able to portray the lyrics and make it interesting to look at too.

• Most of the video will use illustration. For example, “I’m getting bored” is where our performer will yawn whilst looking at the camera .

• Another part of the song we will illustrate but quite vaguely is when the performer sings about being a caveman” so we will have the performer under a bridge, looking quite medieval and old-fashioned.

How will it appeal to our audience?

• Having parts of the song being illustrated allows a memorable experience whilst listening to the song and watching the music video, because it shows significant parts of the song being visually presented.

• Our whole music video does also use bits of disjuncture but in a good way because although what the performer is doing doesn’t really match the song lyrics, it suits the genre and beat of the song, making it more fun to listen to and more entertaining.

Other ways it relates to Goodwin’s theory

• Like Goodwin says, pop music videos don’t really have a form of closure and ending, so our video won’t have a story or clear structure so it will just end on one of our base tracks, allowing it to relate to the lyrics at the end.

• Pop videos rely on repetition – we will have a lot of base tracks continuously being repeated and they’ll mainly be close-ups.

• Our music video will also end with just a simple fading away shot where the camera moves up to the bright sky and then we can use post-production techniques for that to fade out to white as the music fades out too.
