Flat tuningYou can tune your instrument down to sevensemitone steps below the note name shown inthe display.

Input jacksThe pitchblack+ provides two input jacks,INPUT A and INPUT B. You can specifycalibration, tuning mode, flat tuning, anddisplay mode individually for each input jack.If you’ve connected an instrument to only oneof these jacks, you’ll be able to choose from twosets of settings for your instrument.

Display modeYou can choose from six types of displaypatterns for the LED meter. A variety ofillumination patterns are provided, including aMeter that lights in the center when you're intune, a Strobe type meter that stops the flow ofillumination when the tuning is correct, andFocus that uses dual LED meters to allow evenhigher precision tuning.

BYPASS jackWhen the tuner is off, the bypass outputdelivers true bypass, in which the output signalis completely unaffected by the internalcircuitry. The bypass output is muted when thetuner is on.

DC 9V OUT jackIf you’re using the optional AC adapter (9V

), you can use the included DC cable tosupply power for effect pedals that use9V ( ). (A maximum of 200 mA can besupplied.)

Installing the battery1 Open the lid of the battery compartment

located on the bottom of the unit.

2 Attach a battery to the battery connector.Make sure that the battery is oriented in thecorrect polarity.

3 Fit the battery into the battery compartmentand close the lid.When the battery nears the end of its life, theTUNER ON/OFF indicator will blink. Pleaseinstall a new battery as soon as possible.

The included battery is provided so thatyou can verify that the unit is operatingcorrectly; its lifespan may be shorter thannormal.

Restoring the factory settingsHere’s how to return the pitchblack+ to thefactory settings.

1 Connect a cable to the INPUT A or INPUT Bjack; the pitchblack+ will be powered-on.

2 While holding down the UP button andDOWN button, press the TUNER ON/OFFswitch.The tuner will turn off, and the followingsettings will return to their factory-set state.

The INPUT A, INPUT B, and BYPASS jacks are mono-only. Stereo cables cannot be used.

INPUT A & INPUT B jacksConnect the instrument(s) to be tuned to thesejacks.

If your instruments are connected to bothINPUT A and INPUT B, use the INPUT SELECTswitch to choose the instrument you want totune. The INPUT SELECT indicator shows theinstrument whose input jack is selected.You can specify the calibration, tuning mode,flat tuning, and display mode independentlyfor each input jack. For example you canspecify regular tuning for the instrumentconnected to INPUT A, and “open A” tuningfor the instrument connected to INPUT B.

If you connect just one instrument to eitherINPUT A or INPUT B (not both), you can usethe INPUT SELECT switch to choose either A orB settings (calibration, tuning mode, flat tuning,display mode). The INPUT SELECT indicatorshows the settings you’ve selected.For example if you’ve specified regular tuningfor A and flat tuning at a semitone lower for B,you can use the setting A to perform in regulartuning, and then switch to setting B andperform in flat tuning.

If instruments are connected to both INPUTA and INPUT B, and you disconnect thecable from the input jack currently selectedby the INPUT SELECT switch, the inputselection will automatically switch to theother input jack.

BYPASS jackConnect this jack to your effect pedal or amp, etc.When the tuner is on, the sound from theinstrument connected to the INPUT A or INPUTB jack will be muted. When the tuner is off, thesound from the instrument connected to theinput jack will be audible. Since this is “truebypass,” the output sound is unaffected by theinternal circuit. If instruments are connected toboth INPUT A and INPUT B jacks, use theINPUT SELECT switch to choose the instrumentthat will be audible from the BYPASS jack. TheINPUT SELECT indicator shows the input jackthat is selected. If an instrument is connectedonly to the INPUT A or INPUT B jack (not both),the sound of the connected instrument willalways be audible from the BYPASS jack,regardless of the INPUT SELECT switch.

DC 9V IN jackIf you want to use an AC adapter to supplypower to the pitchblack+, you can use theoptional AC adapter (9V 600 milliamps).

Using any other AC adapter may causemalfunctions.

DC 9V OUT jackBy using the included DC cable with theoptional AC adapter, you can supply power toup to three effect pedals or other devices thatuse 9V power ( ).

Make sure that the total current consump-tion of the connected effect pedals does notexceed 200 mA. You must also check thepolarity of the connected effect pedals.

Do not connect an AC adapter to the DC 9VOUT jack. This may cause malfunctions.

If the pitchblack+ is operating on batterypower, power cannot be supplied from theDC 9V OUT jack.

Tuning1 Use a cable to connect the instrument you

want to tune to the INPUT A jack or INPUTB jack.The pitchblack+ will power-on.

The power will turn on when you connect acable to the INPUT A or INPUT B jack, butthe tuner will be off. The tuner will turn onwhen you press the TUNER ON/OFFswitch.

2 If instruments are connected to both INPUTA and INPUT B jacks, use the INPUTSELECT switch to choose the instrumentthat you want to tune. If an instrument isconnected only to the INPUT A or INPUT Bjack (not both), use the INPUT SELECTswitch to choose setting A or setting B.The INPUT SELECT indicator shows theinput jack or setting that’s selected.

When the power is on, the input jack towhich you first connected a cable will beselected automatically.

3 Press the TUNER ON/OFF switch to turnthe tuner on.The TUNER ON/OFF indicator will light.When you turn the tuner on, the signal beinginput from the INPUT A or INPUT B jack willnot be output from the BYPASS jack.

The tuner can be turned on if the instru-ment to be tuned is connected to theINPUT A or INPUT B jack.

The display will show the tuning modesetting for approximately one second.

With the factory settings, the tuning mode isset to CH: chromatic.

You can make these settings independentlyfor the INPUT A and INPUT B input jacks.When you use the INPUT SELECT switchto change inputs, these settings will alsochange automatically. If an instrument isconnected only to the INPUT A or INPUT Bjack (not both), you can use the INPUTSELECT switch to select setting A or settingB for the instrument that is connected.

These settings are stored in internalmemory. Even if you remove the battery ordisconnect the AC adapter, the pitch-black+ will start up with the settingsstored in internal memory the next timeyou turn the power on.

5 Play a single note on your instrument andtune it so that the desired note name isshown in the display.The display shows the note name that isclosest to the pitch you played.

6 Use the LED meter to tune your instrument.The way in which the LED meter indicates thepitch deviation will depend on the displaymode you’ve selected. With the factorysettings, this is set to the F1: Focus1.☞p.20 “Setting the Display Mode”

7 When you’ve finished tuning, press the TUNERON/OFF switch to turn the tuner off.The TUNER ON/OFF indicator will go dark.The sound of the instrument connected to theinput jack will be audible from the BYPASSjack. If instruments are connected to both theINPUT A and INPUT B jacks, you can use theINPUT SELECT switch to choose theinstrument that is audible from the BYPASSjack even if the tuner is off. The INPUTSELECT indicator shows the input jack that’sselected. If an instrument is connected only tothe INPUT A or INPUT B jack (not both), theconnected instrument will always be audible,regardless of the INPUT SELECT switch.

Setting the CalibrationHere’s how to set the calibration (the referencepitch used for tuning, expressed as the pitch ofthe middle A note (A4) on a piano).

You can set the calibration independentlyfor the INPUT A and INPUT B input jacks.When you use the INPUT SELECT switchto change inputs, the setting will alsochange automatically.

The calibration settings are stored ininternal memory. Even if you remove thebattery or disconnect the AC adapter, thepitchblack+ will recall the settings storedin internal memory the next time you turnthe power on.

1 Press the CALIB button.The display will indicate the current setting.

When the pitchblack+ is shipped from thefactory this is set at 40: 440 Hz.

2 Use the UP button or DOWN button tospecify the calibration.40: 440 Hz 41: 441 Hz 42: 442 Hz43: 443 Hz 44: 444 Hz 45: 445 Hz36: 436 Hz 37: 437 Hz 38: 438 Hz39: 439 Hz

If you decide to cancel the change youmade, press the TUNER ON/OFF switch orpress the INPUT SELECT switch to changebetween A or B.

3 Press the STORE button.The INPUT SELECT indicator will blink. Ifthe A and B settings are identical, the A and Bindicators will blink. If the A and B settingsdiffer, the indicator selected by the INPUTSELECT switch will blink.

4 Use the UP button, DOWN button, orINPUT SELECT switch to select the internalmemory in which you want to store thesetting.

5 Press the STORE button once again.The calibration setting will be stored in theinternal memory you specified, and thepitchblack+ will return to tuning mode.

When you press the STORE button, thecalibration, tuning mode, flat tuning, anddisplay mode settings will all be saved atthe same time. For example if you select“A,” change the tuning mode, and save to“B,” settings other than the tuning modewill also change to the setting of “A.”Similarly, if you change the tuning mode of“A” and then change the display mode andsave to “A,” the tuning mode and displaymode will be rewritten with the editedvalues.

Setting the Tuning ModeHere’s how to specify the tuning mode asappropriate for your instrument or theparticular tuning you’re using. In addition tothe regular tuning mode for a guitar or bass,the pitchblack+ supports various tuningsincluding five open tunings for guitar, as wellas original tunings you’ve created.

You can set the tuning mode independentlyfor the INPUT A and INPUT B input jacks.When you use the INPUT SELECT switchto change inputs, the setting will alsochange automatically.

The tuning mode settings are stored ininternal memory. Even if you remove thebattery or disconnect the AC adapter, thepitchblack+ will start up with the settingsstored in internal memory the next timeyou turn the power on.

1 Press the MODE button.The display will indicate the current tuningmode.

2 Use the UP or DOWN button to select thedesired tuning mode.CH: Chromatic. If you decide to cancel your choice, pressthe TUNER ON/OFF switch or press theINPUT SELECT switch to change betweenA and B.



5 Press the STORE button once again.The tuning mode setting will be stored in theinternal memory you specified, and thepitchblack+ will return to the tuning state.

When you press the STORE button, thecalibration, tuning mode, flat tuning, anddisplay mode settings will all be saved atthe same time (☞p.14).

Creating your own TuningIn addition to equal temperament, thepitchblack+ lets you store and use any desiredtemperament. You can also specify ethnictunings or stretched tuning.

You can create a tuning program in either oftwo ways: by specifying the pitch individuallyfor every one of the eighty-eight notes A0–C8(All Note), or by specifying the pitch for eachnote in an octave that will be applied across theentire pitch range (Octave Link).The tuning you create can be saved as one offive tuning programs.

Tuning programs you create are saved ininternal memory. Even if you remove thebattery or disconnect the AC adapter, thepitchblack+ will remember the settingsstored in internal memory the next timeyou turn the power on.

Specifying the pitch for every note (All Note)Here’s how to individually specify the pitch forevery one of the eighty-eight notes A0–C8.

1 In Tuning mode, select P1–P5 (PROGRAM1–PROGRAM 5), and press the STOREbutton to store the setting.☞p.14 “Setting the Tuning Mode”

2 Press the NOTE/CENT button.You will enter Tuning Program Edit mode.The display will indicate the note name, theoctave, and the cent value; the note name andoctave will blink.

If the octave is not shown, the display isshowing the Octave Link edit screen (☞p.17“Specifying the pitch for each note in theoctave”). If so, hold down the NOTE/CENTbutton for approximately one second toselect the All Note edit screen.

3 Use the UP or DOWN button to select thenote name and octave whose cent value youwill specify.

4 Press the NOTE/CENT button to make thecents value blink, and use the UP or DOWNbuttons to specify the cents value relative toequal temperament.You can edit the cents value in a range of -50–+50 cents.

5 To continue editing, press the NOTE/CENTbutton and repeat steps 3 and 4.

6 When you’ve finished editing, press theSTORE button.The display will indicate a program number.

7 Use the UP button or DOWN button toselect the program number (P1–P5) in whichyou want to store the tuning program youcreated.

8 Press the STORE button once again.Your tuning program will be stored, and thepitchblack+ will return to tuning mode.

Specifying the pitch for each note in theoctave (Octave Link)Here’s how to specify the pitch for each note ofan octave.

1 In Tuning mode, select P1–P5 (PROGRAM1–PROGRAM 5), and press the STOREbutton to store the setting.☞p.14 “Setting the Tuning Mode”

2 Press the NOTE/CENT button.You will enter the Tuning Program Edit mode.☞p.16 “Specifying the pitch for every note(All Note)”

3 Hold down the NOTE/CENT button forapproximately one second.The display will show the Octave Link editscreen. The note name and cent value will bedisplayed, and the note name will blink.

Each time you hold down the NOTE/CENT button for approximately onesecond, you will alternate between the AllNote and Octave Link edit screens.

4 Use the UP or DOWN buttons and theNOTE/CENT button to specify the cent valuefor each note in the one-octave range C–B.The procedure and the range for the centvalue are the same as for All Note.☞p.16 “Specifying the pitch for every note(All Note)”

5 When you’ve finished editing, press theSTORE button.The display will indicate a program number.

6 Use the UP or DOWN button to select theprogram number (P1–P5) in which you wantto store the tuning program you created.

7 Press the STORE button once again.Your tuning program will be stored, and thepitchblack+ will return to tuning mode.

Flat TuningFlat Tuning lets you tune a number of semi-tones lower than the note names shown in thedisplay. You can tune down a maximum ofseven semitones (half steps).

Flat Tuning is available when the TuningMode is set to Guitar, Bass, Open D–OpenA open tuning, or DADGAD.

You can specify Flat Tuning independentlyfor the INPUT A and INPUT B input jacks.When you use the INPUT SELECT switchto change inputs, the setting will alsochange automatically.

The Flat Tuning settings are stored in internalmemory. Even if you remove the battery ordisconnect the AC adapter, the pitchblack+ willstart up with the settings stored in internalmemory the next time you turn the power on.

1 Press the FLAT button.The Flat Tuning indicator will blink, and thedisplay will show the current number of flats.

2 Use the UP or DOWN buttons to specify thenumber of flats.You can specify a number of flats in the rangeof 0–7. If you specify a setting other than 0,the Flat Tuning indicator will light.



4 Use the UP button, DOWN button, or INPUTSELECT switch to select the internal memoryin which you want to store the setting.

5 Press the STORE button once again.The selected flat tuning setting will be storedin the internal memory you specified, and thepitchblack+ will return to tuning mode.

Setting the Display ModeHere’s how to specify the display mode of theLED meter. You can choose from six types ofdisplay modes.

The Display Mode settings are stored ininternal memory. Even if you remove thebattery or disconnect the AC adapter, thepitchblack+ will start up with the settingsstored in internal memory the next timeyou turn the power on.

1 Press the DISPLAY button.The display will indicate the current setting.

When the pitchblack+ is shipped from thefactory this is set to F1: Focus1.

2 Use the UP button or DOWN button toselect a display pattern.

S1: Meter

Tune your instrument so that the center LEDof the LED meter is lit. An LED to the right ofcenter will light if your instrument is sharp,and an LED to the left of center will light ifyour instrument is flat. The w pitch guideLED will light if your instrument is sharp,and the s LED will light if your instrumentis flat.

S2: Full Strobe

Tune your instrument so that the LED meterillumination stops moving. The LED meterillumination will flow from left to right if yourinstrument is sharp, or from right to left ifyour instrument is flat. The w pitch guideLED will light if your instrument is sharp, andthe s LED will light if your instrument is flat.

S3: Half Strobe

Tune your instrument so that the LED meterillumination stops flowing. The strobe illumina-tion will appear in the right side of the LEDmeter if your instrument is sharp, and in the leftside if your instrument is flat. When yourinstrument is tuned correctly, only the centerLED will be lit. The pitch guide LEDs indicatewhether your instrument is sharp or flat. The wLED will light if your instrument is sharp, andthe s LED will light if your instrument is flat.

S4: Mirror

Tune your instrument so that the twoilluminated LEDs in the left and right side ofthe LED meter coincide in the center. Thefarther your instrument is from the correctpitch, the farther apart the illuminated LEDswill be. The pitch guide w LED will light ifyour instrument is sharp, and the s LED willlight if your instrument is flat.

F1: Focus1

Sub meter: Full Strobe

Main meter: Meter

The main meter will operate as described inS1: Meter, and the sub-meter will operate asdescribed in S2: Full Strobe. Since the sub-meter has higher precision, it allows you totune with greater accuracy. The pitch guidew LED will light if your instrument is sharp,and the s LED will light if your instrumentis flat.

F2: Focus2

Sub meter: Full Strobe

Main meter: Full Strobe

The main meter and sub meter will operate asdescribed in S2: Full Strobe. Since the sub-meter has higher precision, it allows you totune with greater accuracy. The pitch guidew LED will light if your instrument is sharp,and the s LED will light if your instrumentis flat.

5 Press the STORE button once again.The display mode setting will be stored in theinternal memory you specified, and thepitchblack+ will return to the tuning state.


TroubleshootingCan’t tune.• Could the tuner be off?

Press the TUNER ON/OFF switch to turn thetuner on.

• If instruments are connected to both INPUT Aand INPUT B jacks, have you used the INPUTSELECT switch to select the correct input forthe instrument you’re tuning?

• Have you selected the appropriate tuningmode for the instrument you’re tuning?For example if you’re tuning a guitar, the notenames might not be displayed if the TuningMode is set to BS (Bass).

Sound is not audible from the BYPASS jack.• Could the tuner be on?

If the tuner is on, sound will not be audiblefrom the BYPASS jack. Press the TUNER ON/OFF switch to turn the tuner off.

Power is not supplied from the DC 9V OUT jack.• Could the pitchblack+ be operating on

battery power?Power cannot be supplied from the DC 9VOUT jack if the pitchblack+ is operating onbattery power.

Accordage bémolVous pouvez opter pour un accordage bémol devotre instrument allant jusqu’à sept demi-tonsplus bas que la note affichée à l’écran.

EntréesLe pitchblack+ dispose de deux entrées:INPUT A et INPUT B. Vous pouvez déterminerle diapason (calibrage), le mode d’accordage,l’accordage bémol et le mode d’affichage pourchaque entrée. Si vous avez branché uninstrument à une seule de ces entrées, vousavez le choix entre deux jeux de réglages pourl’instrument.

Mode d’affichageVous avez en outre le choix parmi six typesd’affichage pour l’indicateur à diodes.Différents motifs indicatifs sont disponibles:une échelle dont la diode centrale s’allumequand la note est juste, un stroboscope dont lemouvement s’arrête quand la note est juste etun motif de focalisation qui se sert de deuxindicateurs à diodes pour affiner encorel’accordage.

Prise BYPASSQuand l’accordeur est éteint, la sortie BYPASSconstitue un véritable contournement: le signalde sortie n’est absolument pas affecté par lescircuits internes. La sortie BYPASS est coupéelorsque l’accordeur est activé.

Prise DC 9V OUTSi vous utilisez l’adaptateur (9V )disponible en option, vous pouvez vous servirdu câble DC pour alimenter les pédales d’effetsd’une tension de 9V ( ). (La capacitémaximum d’alimentation est de 200mA.)

Installation de la pile1 Ouvrez le couvercle du compartiment à pile

situé sur la face inférieure du produit.

2 Attachez une pile au connecteur à pile.Orientez la pile correctement en respectantla polarité.

3 Insérez la pile dans le compartiment à pileet fermez le couvercle.Quand la pile est pratiquement épuisée, letémoin d’activation de l’accordeur clignote.Remplacez la pile aussi vite que possible.

La pile fournie permet de vérifier que leproduit fonctionne correctement. Sa duréede vie peut être plus brève que d’habitude.

Prise BYPASSBranchez cette prise à une pédale d’effet, unampli etc. Quand l’accordeur est activé, lesignal de l’instrument branché à la prise INPUTA ou INPUT B est coupé. Quand l’accordeur estcoupé, le signal de l’instrument branché àl’entrée est audible. Comme il s’agit d’unvéritable “contournement”, le signal de sortien’est pas affecté par le circuit interne. Si vousbranchez des instruments aux prises INPUT Aet INPUT B, sélectionnez l’instrument qui seraaudible avec le sélecteur d’entrée. Le témoin desélection indique l’entrée choisie. Si vousn’avez branché qu’un instrument à la priseINPUT A ou INPUT B, le signal de l’instrumentbranché est toujours envoyé à la prise BYPASS,quel que soit le réglage du sélecteur d’entrée.

Prise DC 9V INPour alimenter le pitchblack+ avec unadaptateur secteur, utilisez l’adaptateurdisponible en option (9V 600mA).

L’utilisation de tout autre adaptateur peutprovoquer des dysfonctionnements.

Prise DC 9V OUTEn utilisant le câble DC fourni avec l’adapta-teur secteur optionnel, vous pouvez alimenterjusqu’à trois pédales d’effet ou autres disposi-tifs d’une tension de 9V ( ).

Veillez à ce que la demande totale despédales branchées n’excède pas 200mA.Vérifiez également la polarité des pédalesd’effet branchées.

Ne branchez pas un adaptateur secteur à laprise DC 9V OUT. Cela entraînerait desdysfonctionnements.

Si le pitchblack+ fonctionne sur pile, il nepeut pas fournir d’alimentation via la priseDC 9V OUT.

Accordage1 Branchez l’instrument à accorder à la prise

INPUT A ou INPUT B.Le pitchblack+ se met sous tension.

La mise sous tension a lieu quand vousbranchez un câble à la prise INPUT A ouINPUT B mais l’accordeur est désactivé.Pour activer l’accordeur, appuyez surl’interrupteur de l’accordeur.

2 Si vous branchez des instruments aux prisesINPUT A et INPUT B, sélectionnezl’instrument à accorder avec le sélecteurd’entrée. Si vous n’avez branché qu’un seulinstrument (à la prise INPUT A ou INPUTB), le sélecteur d’entrée permet de choisir lasérie de réglages A ou B.Le témoin de sélection indique l’entrée ou lasérie de réglages sélectionnée.

Lors de la mise sous tension, la premièreentrée à laquelle vous avez branché uncâble est automatiquement sélectionnée.

3 Appuyez sur l’interrupteur de l’accordeurpour l’activer.Le témoin d’activation de l’accordeur s’allume.Quand vous activez l’accordeur, le signal del’entrée INPUT A ou INPUT B n’est pasenvoyé à la sortie BYPASS.

Pour activer l’accordeur, il faut quel’instrument à accorder soit branché à laprise INPUT A ou INPUT B.

L’écran affiche le mode d’accordage durantenviron une seconde.

5 Jouez une note sur l’instrument et accordez-la jusqu’à ce que le nom de note vouluapparaisse à l’écran.L’écran affiche le nom de la note dont lahauteur se rapproche le plus de celle de lanote jouée.

7 Quand vous avez terminé, appuyez surl’interrupteur pour désactiver l’accordeur.Le témoin d’activation de l’accordeur s’éteint.Le signal de l’instrument branché à l’entréeest audible à la sortie BYPASS. Si vousbranchez des instruments aux prises INPUTA et INPUT B, vous pouvez sélectionnerl’instrument qui sera audible avec le sélecteurd’entrée même si l’accordeur est désactivé. Letémoin de sélection indique l’entrée sélection-née. Si vous n’avez branché qu’un instrumentà la prise INPUT A ou INPUT B, le signal del’instrument branché est toujours audible,quel que soit le réglage du sélecteur d’entrée.

Régler le diapasonVous pouvez régler le diapason (“calibrage”),c.-à-d. la hauteur de référence pour l’accordagecorrespondant à la hauteur du La central (A4)sur un piano.

Vous pouvez régler le diapason indépen-damment pour les entrées INPUT A etINPUT B. Lorsque vous changez d’entréeavec le sélecteur, ce réglage changeautomatiquement.

Les réglages de diapason sont sauvegardésen mémoire interne. Même si vous retirez lapile ou débranchez l’adaptateur secteur, lepitchblack+ démarre avec les réglagessauvegardés en mémoire interne lorsquevous le mettez sous tension.

4 Utilisez le bouton HAUT, BAS ou lesélecteur d’entrée pour sélectionner lamémoire de destination du réglage.

5 Appuyez à nouveau sur le bouton STORE.Le réglage du diapason est sauvegardé dansla mémoire interne choisie et le pitchblack+repasse en mode d’accordage.

Quand vous appuyez sur le bouton STORE,les réglages de diapason, de moded’accordage, d’accordage bémol et de moded’affichage sont sauvegardés simultané-ment. Si, par exemple, vous sélectionnez“A”, puis changez le mode d’accordage etsauvegardez le résultat dans “B”, les autresparamètres adoptent également les réglagesde “A”. Si, par contre, vous changez lemode d’accordage puis le mode d’affichagede “A” et sauvegardez ensuite les réglagesdans “A”, les anciens réglages des moded’accordage et d’affichage sont remplacéspar les nouveaux.

Sélectionner le mode d’accordageVous pouvez sélectionner un mode d’accordage pourun instrument particulier ou correspondant àl’accordage souhaité. En plus des accordagesstandard pour guitare et basse, le pitchblack+propose cinq accordages ouverts pour guitare etmémorise des accordages de votre cru.

Vous pouvez régler le mode d’accordageindépendamment pour les entrées INPUT A etINPUT B. Lorsque vous changez d’entrée avec lesélecteur, ce réglage change automatiquement.

Créer vos propres accordagesOutre le tempérament égal, le pitchblack+vous permet de sauvegarder et d’utiliser unautre accordage. Vous pouvez égalementchoisir des gammes venues d’ailleurs ou unaccordage étiré.

Il y a deux façons de créer un accordage: enspécifiant la hauteur individuelle des 88 notesA0~C8 (toutes les notes) ou en réglant lahauteur des notes d’une octave et en appli-quant ces réglages aux autres octaves de laplage.Vous pouvez sauvegarder jusqu’à cinqprogrammes d’accordage.

Vos accordages personnels sont sauvegar-dés en mémoire interne. Même si vousretirez la pile ou débranchez l’adaptateursecteur, le pitchblack+ démarre avec lesréglages sauvegardés en mémoire internelorsque vous le mettez sous tension.

Einlegen der Batterie1 Öffnen Sie den Deckel des Batteriefachs an

der Geräteunterseite.

2 Verbinden Sie eine Batterie mit derAnschlussleiste. Achten Sie auf eine derPolarität entsprechenden Orientierung derBatterie.

3 Schieben Sie die Batterie in das Batteriefachund bringen Sie den Deckel wieder an.Wenn die Batterie fast erschöpft ist, beginnt dieTUNER-Diode zu blinken. Legen Sie dann soschnell wie möglich eine andere Batterie ein.

Die beiliegende Batterie ist ausschließlichfür Testzwecke gedacht. Daher hat sie einekürzere Lebensdauer als andere Batterien.

Laden der WerksvorgabenUm wieder die Werksvorgaben des pitch-black+ zu laden, müssen Sie folgendermaßenvorgehen.

BYPASS-BuchseSchließen Sie hier Ihren Gitarrenverstärker, einEffektpedal usw. an. Wenn Sie die Stimmfunkti-on aktivieren, wird die an die INPUT A- oderINPUT B-Buchse angeschlossene Signalquellestummgeschaltet. Sobald Sie die Stimmfunktiondeaktivieren, wird das Signal des gewähltenEingangs wieder ausgegeben. Hierbei handeltes sich übrigens um eine „echte“ Bypass-Schaltung, die also keinerlei Klangfärbungbewirkt. Wenn Sie sowohl an INPUT A als auchan INPUT B ein Instrument anschließen,müssen Sie mit dem EINGANGSWAHL-SCHALTER das Instrument wählen, dessenSignal an der BYPASS-Buchse anliegen soll. DieEINGANGSWAHLDIODE informiert Sie überden momentan gewählten Eingang. Wenn Sienur die INPUT A- oder INPUT B-Buchse (abernicht beide) verwenden, wird das dortanliegende Signal immer zur BYPASS-Buchseübertragen (die Einstellung des EINGANGS-WAHLSCHALTERS hat darauf keinenEinfluss).

DC 9V IN-BuchseWenn Sie den pitchblack+ lieber nicht miteiner Batterie verwenden möchten, können Siesich für ein optionales AC-Netzteil (9V 600mA) entscheiden.

Die Verwendung anderer Netzteile könntezu Schäden führen.

DC 9V OUT-BuchseWenn Sie hier das beiliegende DC-Kabelanschließen, können Sie –bei Verwendung einesoptionalen AC-Netzteils– bis zu drei 9V-Effektpedale mit Strom versorgen ( ).

Achten Sie darauf, dass der Stromver-brauch der angeschlossenen Effektpedaleniemals mehr als 200mA beträgt. Überprü-fen Sie außerdem die Polarität derangeschlossenen Effektpedale.

Schließen Sie niemals ein Netzteil an dieDC 9V OUT-Buchse an. Das könntenämlich zu Schäden führen.

Wenn Sie den pitchblack+ mit einerBatterie betreiben, kann die DC 9V OUT-Buchse nicht verwendet werden.

Stimmung1 Schließen Sie Ihr Instrument mit Hilfe

eines Klinkenkabels an die INPUT A- oderINPUT B-Buchse an.Dadurch schalten Sie den pitchblack+ außerdem ein.

Beim Anschließen eines Klinkensteckers an dieINPUT A- oder INPUT B-Buchse wird zwar dasGerät aktiviert, nicht aber die Stimmfunktion.Um die Stimmfunktion zu verwenden, müssenSie den TUNER-Schalter betätigen.

2 Wenn Sie sowohl an INPUT A als auch anINPUT B ein Instrument angeschlossen haben,wählen Sie mit dem EINGANGSWAHLSCHAL-TER das zu stimmende Instrument. Wenn Sienur an INPUT A oder INPUT B (aber nichtbeide) ein Instrument angeschlossen haben,dient der EINGAGSWAHLSCHALTER zumWählen des gewünschten Einstellungssatzes.Die EINGANGSWAHLDIODE informiert Sie überdie momentan gewählte Buchse bzw. denEinstellungssatz.

Beim Einschalten wird automatisch derEingang gewählt, an den Sie zuerst einInstrument anschließen.

3 Drücken Sie den TUNER-Schalter, um dieStimmfunktion zu aktivieren.Die TUNER-Diode leuchtet.Solange die Stimmfunktion aktiv ist wird dasan INPUT A oder INPUT B anliegende Signalnicht zur BYPASS-Buchse übertragen.

Die Stimmfunktion kann nur aktiviertwerden, wenn Sie an die INPUT A- oderINPUT B-Buchse ein Instrument anschließen.

Das Display zeigt jetzt etwa eine Sekundelang den gewählten Stimm-Modus an.

Diese Einstellungen können für die INPUT A-und INPUT B-Buchse separat vorgenommenwerden. 5 Spielen Sie eine Einzelnote auf IhremInstrument und stimmen Sie sie so, dass derrichtige Notenname im Display erscheint.Das Display zeigt immer den Namen jener Notean, die der gespielten Note am nächsten kommt.

7 Betätigen Sie den TUNER-Schalter nachdem Stimmen erneut, um die Stimmfunkti-on wieder auszuschalten.Die TUNER-Diode erlischt.Das Signal des gewählten Eingangs wird jetztwieder zur BYPASS-Buchse übertragen. Wenn Siesowohl an INPUT A als auch an INPUT B einInstrument anschließen, können Sie bei deakti-vierter Stimmfunktion mit dem EINGANGS-WAHLSCHALTER das Instrument wählen,dessen Signal an der BYPASS-Buchse anliegensoll. Die EINGANGSWAHLDIODE informiert Sieüber die momentan gewählte Buchse. Wahl der KammertonfrequenzDie Kammertonfrequenz (d.h. die Frequenz derNote „A4“, die auch „Kammerton“ genanntwird) kann folgendermaßen eingestellt werden.

Diese Einstellung kann für die INPUT A-und INPUT B-Buchse separat vorgenom-men werden. Wenn Sie mit dem EIN-GANGSWAHLSCHALTER den jeweilsanderen Eingang wählen, werden auch diezugehörigen Einstellungen geladen.

Die Wahl der Kammertonfrequenz wirdintern gespeichert. Der pitchblack+ merktsich die intern gespeicherten Einstellungenselbst, nachdem Sie die Batterie entnom-men haben und längere Zeit kein Netzteilanschließen.

Programmieren Ihrer eigenenStimmungssystemeDer pitchblack+ braucht nicht unbedingt diegleichschwebende Stimmung zu verwenden.Sie können vielmehr auch eigene programmie-ren. Somit könnten Sie bei Bedarf mit einerethnischen oder der gedehnten Klavierstim-mung arbeiten.

Für die Erstellung eines Stimmungssystemsgibt es zwei Verfahren: Sie können entwederalle 88 Klaviernoten (A0–C8= Tonumfang)wunschgemäß Stimmen oder sich eine Referenzfür eine Oktave vorbereiten, die dann auch vonden übrigen Oktaven übernommen wird(Oktavumfang).Ihr Stimmungssystem kann in einem der fünfSpeicher gesichert werden.
