Strategy Statement“It’s just pocket science” emphasizes streamlining complicated information through the Good Guide app to yield a quick, useful, and comprehensive rating.

About the BrandGood Guide investigates products and companies on their health, environmental, and social impact. Their on-the-go app featuring scanner technology is their leading tool in raising awareness about better shopping decisions. The feasibility of their app and website allows one to use Good Guide’s research to everyone’s benefit. We’ve concocted a welcoming, yet brainy, personality for Good Guide.

Scene opens with a worried news anchor. He is standing in front of the Good Guide labs.

“THIS JUST IN! Scientists at Good Guide are experiencing em-ployee shortages, like—literal employee shortages. THEY’RE SHORT! And are still trying to figure out how to return to normal.

Chris, the news anchor, continues to explain, and makes hand gestures showing that they are actually short!

“Their shrinking is due to the state of the art-futuristic-nano-advanced-shrinking technology to find out what is exactly in our products, but they’re running into a couple of everyday problems...”

Story BoardThe storyboards presented would act as a commercial and/or youtube series for Good Guide. The youtube series would mimic the storyline presented, but would vary by each video.

Alternate Scenes

Scene Option Two: Scientists team up to make a phone call.Scene Option One: A miniature scientist trying to pull her giant car key. Scene Option Three: Scientist obviously frustrated with her size.

Page 28: Pitchbook final

Cuts to a scene with two shrunken scientists trying to write notes with a giant pencil, because they’re still hard at work.

Cuts back to Chris, the news anchor, he has a worried yet humorous look on his face. He understands why he is reporting this, but is trying to hide that he thinks it is funny because he is on television.

“At the moment they’re not sure as to how to fix it, but have their top researchers working on it. In the meantime, they plan to research as many products as they possibly can while they are at this size. Also they are requesting for doll sized furniture. This is Chris Henry and there you have it.”

Sponsored Events and Social MediaSocial media for brands is important in creating human connections. Good Guide’s daily social interaction would reinforce brand transparency. Different media plat-forms would include Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Good Guide would connect interested users through friendly promotional hashtags, statuses, and other social media content.

Examples of brand-specific social media strategies:

#FlubberFun: A promotional contest for Good Guide’s Good Lab science fair. Participants are encouraged to make flubber. Photos and videos are submitted through Twitter and Instagram. The most creative submissions will receive $300 towards highly-rated products.

#PocketScience: Used on Twitter as a way to share interesting and informative “Did you know?” facts. These would be further explained in Good Guide’s podcast.

Promotional PosterThe Good Lab national science fair is presented to you by Good Guide and Target. Supporting Target’s decision to spend $1 billion on education before 2015, the Good Lab will be offering over $150,000 in scholarships. Students from the ages of 9–18 are eligible to participate.

The top 40 schools with the lowest passing and graduating rate will be given a science kit as promotion for the Good Lab science fair. The pack-age will include a handbill on how to make the flubber, ingredients and extra information about registration.
