PITS & RISERS STEP IRONS CAN NOW BE INSTALLED IN GRC PITS AND RISERS

Whilst developing this product, we listened to the end user, who wanted the flexibility to install step irons before and

after installation. There are preformed holes in the back of the pit or riser, where you can install step irons before

or after back filling. This unique design gives customers flexibility and a fully compliant step iron installation.

The end user can choose to either use the pit with, or without step irons. If step irons are required, follow the steps

below.

BCP can always install your step irons for you, prior to delivery.

STEP INSTALLATION FOR GRC PITS AND RISERS

1. The position of the preformed holes are marked with blue dots #1

2. To complete the penetration into the pit, the front of the preformed holes need to be drilled out to complete the depth required for the step iron #2

3. Drill the holes on the inside of the pit wall using a 25mm drill bit #2

4. Mix Up equal parts of BCP 2 part Megapoxy #3 to a smooth grey paste #4

5. Place a reasonable amount of paste into the hole that you have drilled

6. Coat a small amount around the corrugated part of the step iron #5

7. Push the step iron in and gently tap the step iron in using a piece of timber to protect the plastic coating

8. Finish it off by smoothing around the step iron and the back of the pit or riser #6

INTEGRATED LIFTING PINS

Our team of Qualified Engineers and Designers with experience from Civil Industry to Residential projects have

incorporated the concept of Australian Standard Approved “Swift Lift Pins”.

This allows for safer handling of GRC products in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety demands.

COMPLIANT STEP IRONS TO SUIT GRC PITS AND RISERS

For a long time there has never been a compliant answer to installing step irons into GRC and light weight pits.

BCP has modified its 900 & 1200 pit and riser moulds to accommodate “off the shelf” plastic encapsulated step

irons. These have been rigorously tested and are compliant with the latest Australian Standards 1657-2013
