Thanks to a generous Emergency Education Grant from the Jim Joseph Foundation, the scholarship award process is being implemented in partnership with the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties; the Jewish Federation of

Silicon Valley; and the Jewish Community Federation of the Greater East Bay. The Jim Joseph grant will enable families to keep their children in Jewish preschools, day schools and Jewish overnight summer camps throughout the Bay Area.

The Peninsula Jewish Community Center is proud to be supported by the Koret Taube Initiative on Jewish Peoplehood, presenting educational and cultural programs that explore Jewish heritage, identity, and community.

Activity WaiverParticipation in PJCC Sports and Recreation programs, Youth and Teen programs and Trips and Tours requires a signed Activity Waiver submitted prior to the first session. Parent or legal guardian signature is required for children under 18 years of age. The Activity Waiver can be picked up at the PJCC or downloaded at www.pjcc.org/connect/register/cw-register.html.

Program Refund PolicyRefund for Individual Classes, Series Classes & Aquatics To receive a 100% refund, written requests must be received at least one week prior to the individual class or first session of series. To receive a 75% refund, written requests must be received at least one day prior to the individual class or first session of series. To receive a 50% refund (does not apply to individual classes), written requests must be received at least one day prior to the second session of the series. Refund requests made after one day prior to the individual class or second session will not be accepted, and no refund will be granted. Requesting a Refund Requests must be made in writing to: PJCC Program Registra-tion, Attn: Refund Requests, 800 Foster City Blvd., Foster City, CA 94404. Refunds are computed from the date written notice is received and will appear as credits on PJCC house accounts immediately after being processed. Refunds may take 5 –7 business days to be processed. There will be a $10 processing fee for refunds made by check.The PJCC is not responsible for providing makeup classes or issuing refunds for programs missed as a result of illness, travel, emergencies or other events beyond the control of the PJCC. All classes are subject to minimum enrollment. The PJCC reserves the right to cancel classes by refunding all fees where the minimum enrollment is not met. The PJCC reserves the right to close facilities for maintenance, change rooms for best utilization or substitute teachers when necessary. Programs such as Early Childhood Education, Camp, Events, Trips and Tours are subject to their own cancellation and refund policies, which supersede those policies stated above. Pre–Swim Team: Seals Ages 5 – 12Prepare for the Barracuda swim team! Swimmers will learn:

• To swim 50 meters freestyle (no fins) with flip turns• To swim 50 meters backstroke (no fins) with a crossover turn• To swim 25 meters butterfly and breaststroke (no fins) with correct breathing• The required list of nine stroke drills• The correct use of a pace clock• To develop a correct start from a sit-down dive for each of the four strokes• The correct turns for all four strokes

Barracuda Youth Swim Team:

Year-Round Program! Ages 5 – 18

Focus on technique, endurance and speed in the outdoor pool. Swimmers must make arrangements to try out if they are new to our team. Practice up to five days of the week. No practice on 9/5, 9/28, 9/29, 9/30, 10/7, 10/12, 10/13, 10/18, 10/20.

You may cancel any time during the season by notifying the PJCC in writing on or before the 25th of the month. The cancellation will become effective on the last day of that month. Bronze LevelFor swimmers competent in 50 yards freestyle, breaststroke, and backstroke, with knowledge of butterfly. Silver LevelFor swimmers competent in all four racing strokes, starts and turns, who can swim continuously for 20 minutes. Gold LevelFor swimmers who can train autonomously, read a pace clock and swim distances of 200 yards or greater.

Students will receive a certificate valid for two years in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Programs and Errand ServiceGet Up & Go is an activity and errand-transportation service for older adults who no longer drive. Programs without transpor-tation are open to all adults. Programs are free for Get Up & Go regular participants and PJCC members and $4 for the public. A low-cost lunch is served at 12:00 pm. Advance registration required. Errand and Appointment Service Every Monday, Tuesday and Friday, Get Up & Go provides transportation within San Mateo County for non-driving older adults for medical and personal appointments, shopping and other destinations. Shared-ride service is available for $5 round trip or $3 one-way. Volunteer escorts are available. Reservations are required no later than the Wednesday of the week prior to the date of service.
