Analysis of Digipak Magazine Adverts!Colour In summary bands in this genre use a variety of colour schemes to show their individuality but a majority of the time the bands all use a similar colour scheme using black, white and red as primary colours in the colour scheme. For example The XX’s album ‘Sometimes I still need you’ they use black and white the conventional indie/rock colour scheme.ImageIn summary album adverts in the indie/rock genre have images which in some way relate to the album name but don’t always have to feature the band. For example You me at six’s (YMAS) album advert ‘Hold me Down’ doesn’t feature the band.TypographyIn summary on an album advert for a band in the indie/rock genre the font is usually big and bold, the vital information such as the album name, the name of the band and the date of the albums release are in the biggest font so they stand out. For example on YMAS’s album ‘Hold me down’ the release date is in big bright bold letters so it stands out.Language and Mode of AddressIn summary album adverts for bands in the indie/rock genre use short, snappy sentences and abbreviate pieces of info to keep the page interesting, to get right to the point and to make it look less compact and cluttered. For example on The XX’s album ‘Sometimes, I still need you’ it says ‘Album Out Now’ which is quick and snappy and gets right to the point.InformationIn summary album adverts for the indie/rock genre need to provide info on, the bands name, the album name, the date of release, places of purchase, the bands website and the bands record label. Also they can provide info on the different formats you can buy the album on.LayoutIn summary the album advert does not need to follow the line of sight to draw the audience in, but this method does work well to draw the audience in.

This is used in a lot of Album Magazine Adverts, it is spaced out but still has all the info people need to buy the album.

This is good as it has the band name at the top and follows the line of sight, but it looks too cluttered at the bottom.

This is spaced out but the album name will be seen before the band name therefore the audience may not see the band name straight away.

Font Styles and Colour!

I am going to use the font styles I used on the album cover to keep some consistency and because the audience will recognise the font and link it to the band. I also will use the same colour scheme as the album cover, red, white and black and the image will be used from the album cover. The image is also going to be the same image as used on the album cover.

Information on the Advert! The information shown on the album advert should be enough for the audience to know where to buy the album, on what format they can purchase it and when it is out. There can also be additional information including ratings from magazine and radio stations and band websites for sneak previews of the songs.
