FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How do I save a report to my desktop? A: When the report is first displayed on the screen, it appears with Crystal Reports’ formatted text and graphics. An export icon in the upper upper-left hand corner of the display allows the report to be exported in several different formats. To view and print the report with proper file layout and graphics, the report should always be exported and downloaded (saved) as an Adobe Acrobat (PDF) file. To download the Investment Returns document, if it was included at the time the report was ordered, click on “View” next to the applicable report. The document will open in a new browser window, which can then be saved as needed.

Q: Can I run this report for multiple plans? A: This report is available for a single plan only. Q: Who is the intended audience? A: The Plan Review reporting package is suitable for clients with all plan sizes. The charts and graphs are scalable to accommodate varying assets, number of participants, plan metrics, etc. Q: Is there a minimum time period that must be met before I am able to order the report? A: There is no minimum time period that needs to be met to order a report. Requirements are that the report end date must be a plan statement period date and that the statements for the plan have been generated for that period. Historical data will be displayed for the prior two plan year-ends OR as long as the plan has been on the record keeping system, whichever is most recent. Q: Why doesn’t the Plan Review reporting data exactly match my Plan Summary (Trust Statement) information? A: Although the Plan Review and Plan Summary reports share many like metrics, the Plan Summary report stores transactions and assets as of the statement period end date, while the Plan Review will provide transactions and assets as of the same statement period end date but can also include any activity made retroactive to that statement period end date. The Plan Review report package is a collaboration of plan and participant reports with year-over-year comparisons. It is useful for citing trends, assessing changes in investment elections, participation and withdrawal activity in your plan. The Plan Review report is not intended to be used as a supplement to or replacement for your Plan Summary or for any audit-related purposes. Q: What are the parameters for the package? A: In addition to the Group Account / Plan Number that the user has selected, the package requires five parameters to be entered as follows:

End Date selection from the drop-down menu o Only plan statement end dates that have completely generated are available o Statement dates for the past twelve months are available to be ordered

Advisor or report preparer’s information to be included on Cover Page to be selected from the drop-down menu of available contacts, or None, if desired

Page Numbers to be selected to include or exclude on the report

Investment Returns to be included or excluded (available as a separate download)

Q: Why am I receiving the error message: “Plan level access is required to run the Plan Review report” when downloading the package to Adobe Acrobat (PDF)? A: This package can only be ordered by users who have been assigned security access to the plan. Please verify that you have the appropriate access. Users with only designated subset or divisional access will be unable to open or download the Plan Review report. Q: There was a plan change made on the recordkeeping system today that included adding new funds and changing the “relationship manager” on the plan, for example – why are these updates not reflected in the Plan Review report I just ran? A: The Plan Review report is created from data on the recordkeeping reporting database, which is a copy of the previous day’s data from the production database. As updates to plan or participant data are made throughout the day on the real-time recordkeeping platform in production, information is recorded but must go through an overnight batch process to then be stored on the reporting database. To include any updated information made today on the Plan Review report, you must order the report the day after the changes have been made. Q: Why is the most recent statement period end date not listed as on option on the End Date drop-down menu? A: The Plan Review report can be created with any statement period end date during the past 12 months. The statements must be in a completed status (generated) in order to request that statement period end date. Please confirm that the plan’s most recent statements have been completed.
