The previous comprehensive plan provided that development projects near historic
overlay districts be referred to the RHDC for comment; a larger proposal for this site
was reviewed in August 2008 and the southern part of the site was recently reviewed in
February 2012. The packet of information regarding this development project is on the
website.
Interested commission members are invited to attend the May 7 COA meeting and
participate in the discussion. The meeting begins at 4:00 p.m.; however this item will be
considered after the COA public hearings. The exact time it will come up on the agenda
cannot be known, but I do not expect that it would be any earlier than 4:30 p.m.
This site is not located in but adjacent to the Moore Square Historic Overlay District.
However, the site is within the Moore Square National Register Historic District.
The project has been recently submitted to the city for development plan review. Your
comments will be added to the city Preliminary Plan Review Comments form after the
meeting. These are transmitted to the Planning Commission and ultimately City
Council for consideration in their deliberations.

The SkyHouse Raleigh project is a 23 story mixed use building with 320 units and 7,000 SF of ground floor retail at the S.W. corner of the intersection of Martin And Blount Streets. The first floor will contain retail uses, leasing office, entry lobby, trash and loading areas. floors 2‐22 are all residential and the 23 floor has resident amenities that include outdoor seating areas, pool, indoor fitness and gathering rooms. All required parking is within the existing Blount Street Parking deck that will be accessed by a covered walkway on the ground floor along Blount Street. Kenneth D.
