MÉTHODE CAP CLASSIQUE (MCC) __________________________________________________________________________

There are a number of ways in which to achieve the bubbles found in sparkling wine,but only one to produce a quality “top of the range” equivalent to the French tradition for Champagne - this method is referred to as Méthode Cap Classique, MCC in South Africa,and requires that secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle in which it is sold.

Quality wines are aged on the lees to achieve complexity before they are riddled anddegorged.

To celebrate their milestone of 30 vintages of Pinot noir, Hamilton Russell Vineyards hasreleased a five bottle (half decade) vertical of Pinot noir, with each vintage carrying a

specially chosen or commissioned South African artwork as a back label.

Proprietor, Anthony Hamilton Russell, said: “while many enthusiasts have cellaredHamilton Russell Vineyards Pinot noir over the years, there are still a lot who only encounter the wine at a youthful stage. This vertical allows enthusiasts to really get to know our Pinotnoir and its story of place over time and through different life stages”.
