Bondax- Gold (Remix)
The song that we have chosen to make a music video for is Bondax- Gold (Snakehips Remix).
Initially we had a handful of options, however this song stood out for us as the remix we’ve chosen doesn’t have a video itself. This will allow us create a video starting from scratch, making it easy to mould into our own ideal video.
The remix keeps to the mellow, relaxed atmosphere in the original however, also introducing a more upbeat twist with the remix.
This means that there can be opportunities to include shots of dancing or just simply more upbeat movement in our video- giving the remix an edge over the original.

Bondax- Gold (Original)
This is the original version, complete with video. Although we did opt for the same song, the remix allows us to take a more creative route but despite this, we will use elements of the video to influence our own work.
Although the lyrics to the song suggest a relationship rather than a man in the shower, his gold watch is key to this video, clearly tying in with the song title.
The video itself is fairly mellow, just like the song and although they compliment each other this way, some might say that the video is ‘boring’ or ‘slow’. Therefore, with the remix, we can make the video more exciting and upbeat in our own way.

Bondax Bondax is an electronic music duo consisting of English musicians
Adam Kaye and George Townsend. They gained coverage and therefore popularity primarily as a result
of BBC Radio, initially through BBC Introducing Lancashire before receiving BBC Radio 1 airtime from the a range of DJs. In 2012, Bondax started their own record label Just Us Recordings. The first release on the label was a track by fellow producer Karma Kid entitled It's Always.
In 2013, the duo performed at a number of festivals across Europe including; Bestival, Creamfields and Beacons
Although they are played on mainstream radio, they mainly have a target audience of teens and young adults- a range of ages would appreciate this style of music, we aim to do the same with our video by incorporating young children and teenagers to expand the target market.
Background Genre Research Origins of electronic music come from the early 20th century
but became common use in the music industry in the 1960’s when synthesizer technology became more accessible. It became popular in the late 1960’s with groups such as The Beach Boys and The Beatles that lead to the rise of popular electronic music.
Dance music made from purely electronic sounds during the late 1980’s boosted electronic music onto a wider platform. With the developments in digital technology, it meant that pieces could be created without any traditional musical performance necessary.
Bondax also use elements of future garage within their music, which style of electronic dance music which incorporates a variety of influences into UK garage
Lyrics Stop the clocks can we just slow it down
He reads your thoughts they go to a higher groundInvite the guy you like inside the door
Let your self be one with the ocean floor I know gold is not enough, She’s a diamond I’m the rock
While I’m laying down I try my luckDon’t I know gold is not enough? To catch her I’d have someone like yourself (someone like yourself)Through crystal balls I don’t see no-one else (yeahh)No I don’t feelNo no no no no Heartbeat no x8
Cause gold is not enough,She’s a diamond I’m the rockWhile laying down I try my luckDon’t I know gold is not enough?
(Repeat Chorus)
Themes of love, relationships, peace- He says that she is a ‘diamond’ which focuses on the details of two people being together and in particular a man towards a woman.

Details of the Music Video A little boy will peek through the door into an adults room to see
a little girl in front of a vanity mirror. A match on match shot would be key for this, to focus on the action of opening the door.
She might have make up on her face, although this will be messy and flawed, as so to not be seen to encourage the sexualisation of children, but to show her innocently trying her mothers make up on. She will also be trying on, in particular, gold pieces of jewellery to tie in with the theme of the song, hence the title ‘Gold’.
Interjecting shots of the girl as a teenager will be shown throughout, running parallel to the story of the couple, however she will be in front of a green screen as she mimes the lyrics to narrate the story. This will allow us to add colourful lights and back drops, giving a hypnotic atmosphere to compliment the electronic sounds that jump and flitter around the original, mellow track itself.
There will then be a passing of a few years within the music video and then it will show an older boy then opening the same door to reveal an older girl sat in front of the mirror fixing her make up and handling gold jewellery. This storyline will run throughout the entire video.
Whilst also playing the close up shots of the singer, this will cut to the teenage couple, with shots varying ‘mid two’ and ‘long shots’ to follow the couple as they mess around, enjoying each others company.
Details of the Music Video
Details of the Music Video Location- The video will begin being set inside a parents bedroom, with
the little girl infront of a vanity mirror. A city street/Patch of green/Footpath could be used to film the actions of the couple in motion.
Mise En Scene- The room will be filled with the typical furniture, however the focus is on the mirror, littered with a collection of gold jewellery and make up in front of the girl. The location will speak for itself, rather than focusing mainly on props.
Costumes- Girl/Boy casual clothes, both young and old. However the little girl/boy can possibly be in fancy dress to indicate the fact that fact that they are young children.
Change in Time- There should be an indication of many years passing throughout the video, with the use of two older characters to play the young children having grown up. However, both should be shot in the same room to keep the location the same.
Singer- A singer/’narrator’ who will mime the lyrics of the song, these shots interjecting the storyline of the boy and girl to show contrast and depth to the video. This will be performed in front of a green screen.
Influences Three particular videos caught our eye to use as inspiration
for the main features of our video. We do not intend to imitate these, however we realise that the features that we want to use, ex. Showing the stereotypically quirky lifestyle of a fashionable ‘indie’ couple, are common in this style of music- but it works because the videos are successful.
