TARGET AUDIENCE I have chosen to do a rock magazine with a

target audience of 15-25 year old males who are interested in rock music.

I have chosen this as my target audience because I have done lots of previous research on rock magazines and have a lot of friends interested in rock music who I can ask if my magazine appeals to them.

I am pricing my magazine at £2.10. This is because my target audience will not be able to afford a lot more than that. The low cost will entice them to buy my magazine as more well established music magazines aimed at a higher target audience are of a higher price.

MAGAZINE NAME I chose the name ‘RAGE’ because I think

it suits my target audience of 15-25 year old males interested in rock and live music.

‘RAGE’ connotes rebellion and therefore appeals to people interested in rock music.

MAGAZINE SLOGAN I have chosen the slogan ‘Rewind with Rage.’ I have chosen this particular slogan for a number

of different reasons. Firstly ‘rewind’ is a music term, as in ‘rewind a song.’ This works well as I am designing a music magazine.

The slogan also contains a pun. This is because ‘rewind’ can be seen as a music term, but also means ‘rewind’ as slang for ‘relax.’ The fact that the slogan contains slang appeals to my target audience as they are young and like things to be made personal to them.

Lastly I have chosen this slogan as it contains my magazine name, creating a very recognisable brand identity.

MAGAZINE HOUSE COLOURS I have chosen black and red to be my

house colours. This is because they appeal to my target audience and are similar to other well known rock magazines.

Black connotes rebellion and is a masculine colour, therefore attracting my target audience.

Red connotes danger and appeals to males, this attracts my target audience.
