I hope to experiment with the type of titles used in the BBC crime drama, ‘By any means’. It is similar to what I initially imagined, and I think that integrating this into the setting will fit in well. An example of where I would use this would be into a wall next to a railway.

I will take some inspiration from a still like this because it has the urban undertone I want to create. I won’t however, use the silhouette design, instead I’ll integrate it into the setting itself. The font type is edgy and dramatic which is exactly the sort of way I want to portray my genre. The addition of contrasting colours could also be something I look at for more powerful emphasis.

Still length? – I will look to keep them up for around 3 seconds as this is the optimum length in the crime/thriller genre. On the main title I could leave it on for longer though.

Font – It is bold and stands out a lot. This will impacting to look at and set the atmosphere well.

Font colour – The colour will be largely contrasting and of black and white.

My font size will be dependant on the backdrop object it is on.

As a whole, I would like my titles to be a strong message to the viewer of not only my genre, but also the intense mood and atmosphere of my opening. Details like the squareness of the font will connote danger or threat which is want I want to try and achieve.
