Def.- Is the act of transferring pollen grains from the male anther to the female stigma.

BIOLOGY ONLINE Def.- A pollinator is the agent that moves pollen from the male anthers of a flower to the female stigma of a flower, this accomplishes fertilization.

1. Animal dispersal- Animals can carry the seeds with their fur, they can also eat the pods and the seed will travel within the animal's intestines. They can be planted wherever the animal’s feces end up.

2. Wind dispersal- These seeds often tend to be smaller. When the wind blows, the seeds travel off the plant to where it can fertilize.

3. Floating in water- Many aquatic plants and land plants that live near water have seeds that can float, and are carried by water.

Def.- A period in an organism's life cycle when growth, development, and (in animals) physical activities are temporarily stopped. This helps an organism to conserve energy.

Ex.-Plants cannot seek shelter or use other active ways to survive water shortages and cold weather. Consequently, many plants go through dormancy in order to avoid unfavorable conditions.
