This international journal of applied plant pathology publishes originalresearch articles; reports of new diseases and epidemics; feature articles on needs,approaches, and accomplishments; and exchanges of news, ideas, and opinions. Allopinions, editorials, and papers published in PLANT DISEASE reflect the views of theauthors and are not necessarily the views of the Society or of the institutions with whichthe authors are affiliated.Submission of manuscripts: Manuscripts from nonmembers as well as from members ofThe American Phytopathological Society are considered for publication. Manuscriptsshould not be submitted fo r publication in PLANT DISEASE until 1September 1979. Priorto that date, manuscripts should be submitted to PlantDiseaseReporter.Manuscriptsfor PLANT DISEASE should be mailed to The American Phytopathological Society, 3340Pilot Knob Road, St. Paul, MN 55121. Manuscripts should not be submitted to theEditor-in-Chief. Submission implies nonsubmission elsewhere and, if the manuscript isaccepted, no publication elsewhere in the same form without consent.Page charges: Th e high cost of publishing articles in PLANT DISEASE requires that wesolicit from research sponsors voluntary contributions in the amount of $40 pe r printedpage. Payment of the contribution is not a condition of publication.
