which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.

Zeroing the “Be Fruitful”

“The Fruit”

• The fruit that only God can produce in our lives is called “The fruit of the SPIRIT”

• Gal 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the SPIRIT is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

• Gal 5:23b “Against such things there is no LAW”

• Our Natural Appetite left by itself is sinful.

• Gal 5: 19-21 “The acts of the sinful nature are OBVIOUS: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.”

• That’s why we need LAWS. Because left to our own, our nature is bad.

• The fruit of the Spirit cannot be produced by the Law. The Law tries to regulate the flesh, but only the Spirit can produce real change from the inside out.

• Being in the Spirit and grace does not mean doing away with the law, instead it makes compliance to the law possible.

• Gal 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the SPIRIT is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

• Gal 5:14-16 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” … So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

• The HOLY SPIRIT enables you. Even when there is no law, you will do the RIGHT thing.

How do we live in the Spirit?

• Romans 8:5-6 (NLT) 5 Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. 6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

When the fruit is good, the seed spread

• Matthew 13:31-32 (NIV) • 31 He told them another parable: "The

kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. 32 Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches."

Our Commissioning• they do not belong to the world, just as I do

not belong to the world…I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. John 17:14-18

• Jesus Prayer – for us Not Isolated from the world, but Insulated in the world.
