Plant Protection and Support• Cuticle- a waxy, protective layer on the surface

of a plant; slows loss of water(demonstration and lab)

make out of sugar; strengthens cell walls

Classification of Plants

Vascular Plants• Have tubelike structures

that carry water, nutrients, and other substances throughout the plant

Nonvascular Plants• Do not have tubelike

structures, use other ways to move water and substances
