ABOUT SIMULATIONS
Physical simulations allow students to witness a physical or global process and manipulate some variables
Procedural simulation allows the student to manipulate simulated objects with the goal of mastering a skill then correctly apply these skills in a real-world setting
Iterative simulations tend to focus on discovery learning by providing the student with opportunities to conduct scientific research, build and test hypothesis and observe the results
ABOUT SIMULATIONS
In science, many of these simulations are designed to capture and model dynamic processes or concepts that occur on a microscopic or macroscopic level
Simulation offers the student a chance to witness “dynamic and visual representations of physical phenomena and experiments, which may pose a threat or not possible in a school laboratory”
An educational simulation is based on an internal model of a real-world system or phenomena in which some elements have been simplified or omitted in order to facilitate learning

Another advantage to simulations is their flexibility many simulations can be done anywhere there is Internet access
Simulations can also be done in a collaborative environment to bring about discussion and debate over any probing questions

Schehaviorism (Shkee-hey-ver-ism) - the way we construct and arrange knowledge, skills and memory based on challenges, stimulation, our desires, and our drive to make sense of our natural world
In this Simulation, I wanted students to use and build upon their prior knowledge and prior Schema to make rationale meaning out of natural world

a thermometer to monitor plate temperature

line which students will use calculate the rate
of plate movement
