GB 14.11.2016 Platon DD Drainage layer for external basement walls and terraces Product description Platon DD is manufactured from virgin polyethylene (HDPE) by welding a polypropylene (PP) filter fabric to top of the studs of the formed sheet thereby creating a drainage layer. The membrane is impermeable while the filter fabric is permeable allowing water to pass through and retaining fine materials. 7 mm studs are formed in a regular pattern at approx. 25 mm centres. Channels between studs form a continuous air gap in one direction on the back face of the membrane. Application Vertical drainage layer on external basement walls and protection board to primary waterproofing. With full control of ground water level at the base of the wall Platon DD may also be used as independent dampproofing without primary waterproofing. Horizontal drainage and protection of primary waterproofing in walkways, terraces and balconies. Installation Vertical Unroll on the wall in horizontal direction with filter fabric facing out. Fix along upper edge with proper Platon fixing at 25 cm centres. Overlap vertical and horizontal joints. If preferred the filter fabric may be easily removed for successive overlap of membrane and filter fabric. Platon Top Moulding is fixed along top edge. Horizontal With channels in one direction only it’s very important to unroll the membrane in perpendicular direction to roof slope. Separate filter fleece from the studs along the edge to ensure proper overlaping. Platon DD must be ballasted after installation. Do not use any mechanical fasteners. Storage Rolls of Platon DD should be stored upright when stored over long periods and preferably under cover.
