CHRISTMAS PARTY
The centre Christmas party is on Thursday 19th December from 3.00-5.00pm This is always a
fun afternoon at the centre and we would love it if you could all join us to celebrate the end of
another great year at Playhouse! The children love to share this special occasion with someone
close and really notice if no one is there for them so if neither parent is able to attend it would be
wonderful if a grandparent, aunty, uncle or other family friend could be there to share this special
time with them

Greetings from the Kiwi Room.
We want to thank relievers Shiree, Mele, Farida and Tamsyn who are working with us to ensure your children are
happy and secure each day. In the New Year, we have invited Ruth Brown to join our team. She has just completed
her Bachelor of Teaching and is passionate about working with the Under 2 age group. You may remember her - when
she completed her 7 week practicum with us earlier this year. We are so glad that she is able to come back to
Playhouse and the children will love to see her again as well.
The Christmas decorations have been located and dusted off and we are starting to decorate the room in
preparation for our end of year festivities. We are going to practice new songs for our concert, make gifts for our
families, try some festive cooking and enjoy the warm summer weather with lots of outdoor play.
The children are all very energetic and adventuresome, and love to spend as much time as they can outdoors as they
explore, climb, get involved in new activities and make new friends.
We want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and trust over this past year and want to
reassure you that we are taking extra care to ensure your little ones are safe, secure and happy as we work through
the staff changes. The daily routines and the programme of the Kiwi room have stayed the same for the children
and they have really surprised us with their resilience and acceptance of new staff in the room.
We hope that you may be able to get some time off work to come and join us all at the Centre’s Christmas Party on
Thursday 14 December (3.00 – 5.00pm)
We congratulate Sam and Graham on the birth of Amelia Jayne We look forward to lots of cuddles!
Season’s greetings from Lynnette, Alisi, Shiree, Sam, Mele, Farida and Tamsyn
Tena koe and welcome to news from the Pukeko room
Our highlights of the past month were walking to the park and the arrival of our new play house. We have visited the
park regularly during its transformation and it was a pleasure to see the work almost complete. The children walked
through the beautifully designed track and were invited by Green Bay High School to help create a taniwha and
eggs(sea urchin) of shells, and clay. As a finale we plan to celebrate by having a picnic lunch of fish and chips in the
park.
We would like to say a big thank you to Greg for our exciting new play house. The children have had an absolute blast
playing mums and dads and our older children have taken books inside to do a shared group time!
We have been busy practicing and making props and masks for our Christmas concert and we are looking forward to
our upcoming Christmas party to share our songs and dance moves with you!. As this year comes to a close we would
like to thank our parents and whanau for your cooperation and kind words of encouragement. Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year to all our families!
Last but not the least we would like to farewell our dear friends Lincoln, Isaac, Madison, Aiden Brophy, Troy, Maia
and William who will be leaving us for school. We will miss you all and wish you Happy School Days and lots of new
friends
Wishing all our families a very merry and magical Christmas!
