Furikae Haraikomi Senyo and herein after EPRC) is a pre-embossed card issued by Japan Post Bank at the request of the Bank for its Customers to use in transferring funds at the ATMs of Japan Post Bank to the Bank for remittances to the Philippines. The use for EPRC shall only be through ATMs of Japan Post Bank. Only Customers who have successfully completed the registration process for remittance can request for EPRC. Only registered beneficiaries of the registered Customer may be elected by the same Customer for EPRCs. A specific EPRC shall be assigned to the elected remittance beneficiary of the Customer and it cannot be interchanged with other beneficiaries or be used by any other Customer; it is not transferrable. The EPRC, upon successful election, shall be sent to the Customer via Registered Mail. The types of remittances qualified for EPRC are credit to Metrobank Philippine Peso Accounts in the Philippines, credit to Metrobank’s World Cash Cards, Over the Counter (OTC) Philippine Peso payment at Metrobank Philippine Head Office and Branches, credit to Philippine Peso Accounts in other banks in the Philippines and Over the Counter (OTC) Philippine Peso payment at Cash Payout Centers in the Philippines. A maximum of five (5) beneficiaries may be elected for EPRC. The Customer may choose to replace an elected beneficiary by surrendering the EPRC to the Bank and standard procedures for EPRC application shall apply. In case of cancellation, re-assignment or replacement of the EPRC, the Customer shall be required to fill out and submit the Maintenance Request for EPRC form together with a photocopy of the valid registered prescribed ID. A replacement fee of ¥300 is required for the replacement of a lost or damaged EPRC. The replacement of a defective EPRC or replacement due to re-assignment shall be free of charge. The Customer shall be required to surrender the EPRC in case of cancellation, re-assignment or replacement of a defective or damaged EPRC. Domestic transfer charges/fees of Japan Post Bank shall be shouldered by the Remitter. Japan Post Bank charges/fees are subject to change in the future. At the ATMs of Japan Post Bank, the maximum amount that can be transferred using the EPRC inclusive of all the applicable transfer/remittance charges is ¥100,000 (ex. ¥100,000 transferred less ¥339 Japan Post Bank transfer charges and ¥1,500 Metrobank remittance charge =¥98,161 net remittance amount). In case of remittance transactions amounting to more than ¥100,000 (inclusive of remittance charges), the transaction must be made at the Japan Post Bank teller’s counter with the presentation of the EPRC and the valid ID of the Remitter. Aggregation of fund transfers to combine into a single remittance transaction is not allowed (i.e. one fund transfer by EPRC = one remittance transaction). There is no limit to the amount for each remittance; however, confirmation of remittance details shall be required for remittances amounting to ¥300,000 and above. A transaction or aggregate transactions in one month amounting to 1 Million Japanese Yen and above shall be subject to the Bank’s approval. The Bank may require the submission of evidentiary documents for the source of funds, use of funds in the Philippines, etc. based on the Bank’s assessment regardless of the transaction amount. Transfers made before 11:30 AM during weekdays shall be processed on the same day around 4:00 PM and payments made after 11:30 AM shall be processed on the next banking day around 11:00 AM except in case of a system fault caused by a natural disaster etc. All transfers made during weekends and holidays shall be processed on the next banking day except in case of a system fault caused by a natural disaster etc. The prevailing exchange rate of the day of the Bank shall be used in processing the transferred funds for the remittance. The Customer may choose to receive E-Statements (remittance statement sent via email) for transactions by registering a valid email address with the Bank. Upon successful application, no printed remittance statement shall be sent by postal mail except for those transactions amounting to more than ¥100,000 (net of charges) which shall be sent via registered mail to comply with Japan regulatory requirements. In case of unsuccessful delivery of the E-Statement or other reasons, the Customer may change the registered email address upon the submission of the Maintenance Request Form together with a photocopy of the valid registered prescribed ID and request for the latest E-Statement to be resent to the newly registered email address. In addition, the bank may send emails regarding promotions, advertisements, products, services, etc. to the email address stated herein. The request for E-statement shall apply to all EPRC transactions. Bank reserves the right to cancel the EPRC or hold the transferred amount of the Customer due to the following reason: In case the Customer failed to comply with the any necessary documentation requirements or failed to provide confirmation on required information in accordance to the bank’s policy within a prescribed period of time set by the Bank. Unclaimed or undelivered Easy Postal Remit Card for more than ninety (90) days from the issued date. Abuse in the usage of the EPRC, frequent violation of the amount limit set by Bank or failure of the Customer to adhere to the Bank’s policies. Suspension of the Services The Bank may cancel or suspend the use of the Services at any time for any reasons at its sole discretion. The Customer may suspend his/her use of the Services by giving prior notice to the Bank. The suspension of the Services applies only to the Services and shall not apply to the cancellation or suspension of the Customer's various existing Bank accounts and other Bank services (e.g. Yen Savings Account, Remittance Services). Upon the occurrence of any of the following events, the Bank may immediately cancel or suspend the provision of the Services without any prior notice: When the Customer breaches this EPRC Terms and Conditions; When the payment of all or part of the Customer's debts owed to the Bank is delayed; When a suspension of payment is ordered, or commencement of bankruptcy is known to the bank; When inheritance proceedings for the Customer commence; When the whereabouts of the Customer become unknown to the Bank due to the Customer's failure to notify the Bank of a change of address; When it is known to the Bank the Customer is a member or a previous member or has any relation to Anti-Social Forces; or When the Bank determines, on reasonable grounds, that the Services should be canceled, suspended or terminated. The Bank may amend the service hours, charges and other contents of the Services, or this EPRC Terms and Conditions at its sole discretion, without any prior notice to the Customer. The EPRC shall be governed by the EPRC Terms and Conditions and the Terms and Conditions for Overseas Remittance. (Refer to No. 17)
