Tab key- this key is used to quickly take you to a location and align text
Font- a set of character with specific typeface size and style. Example: Times New Roman vs. Broadway.Case- specific use of upper or lower case letters.

COMMON VOCABULARY
Proofreader’s Marks- Symbols written on a printed document to indicate where revisions are required
Keywords- important words found within a document
Document Properties- Categories of information about a document
Delivery address- the recipient’s address printed in the outside of an envelope

Return Address- The author’s address typically appearing at the very top of the letter as well as in the upper left corner of an envelope
E-mail (electronic mail)- method of sending information from one computer to another across the internet or intranet
Insert Mode- method of operation used for inserting new text within existing text in a document. Insert mode is the default.

Overtype Mode- The method of operation used to replace existing text in a document with new text
Acronym- A word made from the first letter of each word in the name sentence or phrase Example: United Nations acronym is UN.
Undo- The command for reversing a previous action (can be found in the top left area of a word document )
Redo- The command for reversing the Undo command, also found in the top left of a word document

Clipboard- a temporary storage area that can hole up to twelve selections at a time
Cut- to delete a section from its original locations and move it to the clipboard
Copy- to create a duplicate of a selection and move it to the clipboard (can be done by holding down the control key and “c”)
Paste- to insert a selection from the clipboard into the document (can be done by holding down the control key and “v”)
Drag-and-drop editing- the action of using a mouse to drag a selection from its original location and drop it in a new location
