WarningsBe sure to read all warnings and instructions before using your UE in-ear monitors.Always turn the volume down on your device before inserting UE in-ear monitors into your ears. Once the in-ear monitors are inserted, gradually increase the volume.

Using monitors at high volumes can permanently damage your hearing. Ringing in your ears or other discomfort can indicate that music volume is too high. Please review the following guidelines for the maximum time exposure to sound pressure levels before hearing damage occurs. (See other side, Listen responsibly).

Do not submerge the in-ear monitors in water or expose the in-ear monitors to water.

Remove in-ear monitors if they cause any discomfort or if you have difficulty inserting the monitors. Remember, ears are sensitive and you should never force anything into the ear canal.

Consult regularly with a physician or audiologist if you have problems hearing, excessive wax build-up or any discomfort after use.

These custom in-ear monitors are intended for your use only. They are custom molded to your ear, please do not share with others.

Hearing protectionAt Ultimate Ears we are committed to hearing protection. Our personal monitors are designed to block harmful, often destructive levels of sounds while delivering the clear, consistent mix you desire. Used wisely, Ultimate Ears personal monitors can protect your hearing by significantly lowering ambient sound while listening at significantly lower Sound Pressure Levels (SPL’s). Please be extremely careful with excessive volume directly in the ear.

Listen responsiblyHearing health is critical to the enjoyment and to the quality of life. Protect your hearing by listening to your monitors in a responsible manner. According to OSHA (Occupational Safety Health Administration 29CFR1910.95) the following SPL’s are recommended and deemed to be Permissible Noise Exposures:

Ultimate Ears warrants against poor fit on all Custom In-Ear Monitor Product (“Custom Product”) for a period of thirty (30) days from the original shipping date. In addition, Ultimate Ears warrants that your Ultimate Ears Custom Product (external shell and/or internal components) shall be free from defects in material and work-manship for one (2) years from the date of purchase. Except where prohibited by applicable law, this warranty is nontransferable and is limited to the original purchaser. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary under local laws.

Ultimate Ears’s entire liability and your exclusive remedy for any breach of warranty shall be, at Ultimate Ears’s option, (1) to repair or replace the Custom Product, or (2) to refund the price paid, provided that the Custom Product is returned to the point of purchase, or such other place as Ultimate Ears may direct, with a copy of the sales receipt or dated itemized receipt. Shipping and handling charges may apply except where prohibited by applicable law. Ultimate Ears may, at its option, use new or refurbished or used parts in good working condition to repair or replace any Custom Product. Any replacement Custom Product will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or thirty (30) days, whichever is longer or for any additional period of time that may be applicable in your jurisdiction.

This warranty does not cover problems or damage resulting from (1) accident, abuse, misapplication, or any unauthorized repair, modification or disassembly; (2) improper operation or maintenance, usage not in ac-cordance with product instructions or connection to improper voltage supply; or (3) use of consumables, such as cords.

How to Obtain Warranty, Repair and Replacement Support. Repair estimates are available upon request. If you find it necessary to return your Ultimate Ears product for warranty service or out of warranty repair please complete the RMA form found at pro.ultimateears.com and follow the instructions provided.

Warranty claims and any other product related questions should be addressed directly to Ultimate Ears at pro.ultimateears.com. The addresses and customer service contact information for Ultimate Ears can be found in the documentation accompanying your product and on the web at pro.ultimateears.com.

Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you. MICRO USB CHARGING

The charging clip that came with your buds also acts as a charging dock. 2.5 hrs for full charge gives 4 + 4 hours of playtime. 20 mins charging gives 1 hour of play time. The clip can also be charged separately and used at a later time.

To charge your buds, securely attach the charging clip to the back of the controller and insert the micro USB end of your included cable into the bottom end of the charging clip. Plug the other end into any 5V 500mA USB power source. This charges both your buds and the charging clip simultaneously for extended listening.

USING THE CHARGING CLIP TO CHARGE

In addition to using the USB charging cable, your charging clip can charge your buds without having to be connected to a power source . Your charging clip has an internal battery and circuitry that extends your play time by 4 hours . Simply attach it to the back of the controller and it automatically starts charging .

Every time you attach the charging clip it will reset your buds by turning them off. You may turn your buds back ON and continue to listen to your music while the charging clip is attached and transferring power .

Do not use your buds while the USB cable is plugged into a power source . Doing so could cause an electric shock if your power source develops an electrical fault.

With buds turned off, & within 1 meter (3 ft) of music device, push and hold center key for more than 4 sec until you see alternating red/green LED and a voice prompt saying “Searching For Your Music Device”.

On your phone/music device, turn Bluetooth on & have it search for Bluetooth devices.

3. Select "UE Custom"(enter passcode 0000 if prompted).

Voice prompt will say “Headphones Connected”.

If the pairing is not successful, switch off buds by pushing the center key for more than 4 seconds and repeat the steps outlined above.

PAIRING WITH A BLUETOOTH ADAPTER

Place buds and device within 1 meter (3 feet) of each other.

Put the buds into pair mode as outlined on prior page.

If using BAU Universal Bluetooth Adapter put into pair mode also (see BAU manual).

Plug the Bluetooth adapter into the music device and play a song.

The buds and adapter will pair automatically (passcode of adapter must be 0000).

After successful pairing and connecting, the buds will say “Headphones Connected”.

PAIRING WITH SEVERAL BLUETOOTH DEVICES

Multipoint enables you to simultaneously pair and connect your buds with two different Bluetooth devices. For example you can have your UE Custom buds connected to your laptop and your phone at the same time. You can listen to music from your laptop and are still able to answer an incoming call on your phone using your UE Custom buds controller. Pretty wicked, eh?!
