January Calendar Inside
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Remember Bible drill officially kicks off this
Sunday, January 5th, 4:00-5:00pm for kids in
4th-6th grades and 5:00-6:00pm for youth.
Let’s make 2014 a great year for spiritual
growth for our families! Let’s develop those
habits of daily time in the Word and prayer with our kids. If it is
normal for them now, it will be normal when they are grown! I
know all of us can make improvements with our walk with the
Lord. I pray that this year everyone here at Grace will see won-
derful growth and commitment to our God. It all starts with us as
parents. Let’s work on our weaknesses in our walks so our chil-
dren won’t inherit them as well.
This might seem tough, time consuming, stressful, and even diffi-
cult to know where to start. But it will bear fruit that will last for
eternity,.
Just a reminder that we always need
workers in Children’s Church. Contact
me for more information.
Happy new year again!

Well, praise God for His bountiful blessings
of 2013. We’ve seen His mighty work in the
lives of a lot of people. I trust your life is
richer and stronger in Christ than it was on
January 1, 2013. We praise God for new
believers and additional members to our fellowship. You who
became members during the year have enriched our fellowship.
I have personally been blessed by observing the spiritual growth
in so many of you and pray that the growth will continue to
increase in 2014. One area where we need to finish strong is our
financial stewardship. Hopefully you will receive this newslet-
ter in time to make that last-minute gift to take us over the top.
Our Christmas programs, concluding with the Christmas Eve
celebration, were awesome. To God be the glory! Hopefully
you were able to worship with us during these events.
ACTS: THE CHURCH UNLEASHED! is our theme for 2014. I
think you will agree that if there was ever a time when we need
for the church to be the church of Jesus Christ in our world, it’s
now. The first century New Testament church, as revealed in
the book of Acts, made such an impact on the Roman world of
its day that they were accused of “turning the world upside
down!” Actually, the world was already upside down, spiritual-
ly, morally, socially … literally in every way. God used the
believers of that era to help turn it right-side-up! We’ll look at
how it happened and its application to us in 2014. I encourage
you to read, read, read this awesome book of the Bible. Do it
seven times during the month of January and see what happens
in your life. Pray for God to saturate our fellowship with the
message so we become like those first century believers. I love
you and look forward to seeing you in the new year!

Music and Adult Education Hello Church,
Well, Christmas has come and gone. We have celebrated the first coming of Christ and of course look forward to the second coming. Now, with a new year beginning, we tend to focus on renewal. With that comes a greater tenacity to either fix what wasn't quite right last year or begin something we have been intending to do.
Of course for us, it always begins with "fixing our eyes on Jesus..." As you do, let me encourage you all to look for ways to plug in and also to serve the Kingdom of God in His church. Here are some examples: come to Sunday School and Worship Service on a more regular basis, join the choir or orchestra, join a service team like the sound and lighting crew...
Ok, so all of those are areas that I am directly associated with which may make this seem a little self serv-ing, but the truth is I desire for us all to focus on our faithfulness to God for His glory.
There are many ministries in place where you can use your gifts and talents to serve The Lord. Just do it! and see how God will bless you and our church and our community.
Thank you choirs, orchestra, sound and lighting team, media team and Sunday School teachers for a great 2013. I am looking forward to even a better 2014.
Thank you Thank you for the opportunity to present a Gideon report to
your congregation. I enjoyed the warm welcome. Your message
on giving thanks for the Bible was the best I have heard.
Please thank your congregation for their generosity to the mis-
sion of the Gideons. The total gift was $1310, all of which will
go to distribution of the Word of God.
In His Service

Your prayers and concern have meant so very much to me. I
“praise God from Whom all blessings flow” through you as you
asked for healing for me, and He so faithfully answered. What a
glorious Savior we serve! May our Heavenly Father richly bless
you. I love you all.
Kathy Clark (Hilda’s sister)
Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers during my dad’s
illness and passing.

Hi… My name is (name withheld) and I am currently in prison.
I signed my children up for the Angel Tree for Christmas and I
want to thank you all very much for being there for my kids and
being able to help me get gifts out to my love ones for Christ-
mas. Hopefully when I get out of prison I will be able to attend
your church and be a new church member with my family.
Thank you again and I really appreciate y’all and may God
bless you all. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Early Learning Center News The Early Learning Center of Grace Memorial Bap-
tist Church is getting ready to celebrate 30 years of
educating children. The school opened its doors for
the first time to the children of Slidell on January 9,
1984. The school has served the community as a
Mothers Day Out Program, Preschool and Kindergar-
ten for 30 years.
A celebration is planned for January 23, 2014. The
school will celebrate with an Open House complete
with cake and punch. A short slide show will begin at
6:00pm in the Worship Center followed by the Open
House in the Children’s Building. Staff and teachers
will be on hand for the night to show you around the
school and to answer any questions you may have
about a particular class or curriculum. This is a great
time to stop by and see what a wonderful program
we have, meet the staff and see what a great place
our Early Learning Center is for children to learn and
grow. Please join us for this very special evening.
