Plymouth Argyle Football Club
WELCOME to Home Park Stadium, the home of Plymouth Argyle FC since 1901. The stadium stands at the edge of Central Park, a green space in the heart of the city. This season will mark the opening of the redeveloped Mayflower Grandstand, marking the 400-year anniversary of the Pilgrims’ departure from Plymouth’s shores to discover America.
The record attendance at the Theatre of Greens stands at 43,596, for a second division clash with Aston Villa in 1936. Home Park has also played host to a number of prestigious fixtures, including a friendly with Brazilian side Santos,
which included all-time great Pelé, and a UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup match between Manchester United and St Etienne, as the Red Devils’ sanction for crowd trouble meant they were required to play their home leg at least 200 kilometres from Old Trafford.
This guide is designed to help you plan your visit to Home Park, and should include all of the information required to allow you to make the most of your visit to Britain’s Ocean City. If, however, you have any further queries, please contact our Supporter Liaison Officer Rick Cowdery on [email protected].
Welcome
THERE are bar and refreshment facilities located within the away concourse in the Barn Park End, which will be open for the duration of the game, and beforehand. In addition, there are several independent food and beverage outlets located outside the stadium – mobile food vendors serve fast food, doughnuts, coffee and the locals’ favourite delicacy, the Cornish pasty.
Food Drink
THE re-development of the Mayflower Grandstand includes one of the largest hospitality and conferencing centres in the region, which will enhance both match-day and non-match-day experience at Home Park. The hospitality offering within the Mayflower Grandstand is scheduled to open in mid-December, so early-season hospitality will take place in temporary facilities close to the stadium.
If you would like to book a hospitality package for your team’s visit to Home Park, please contact our Head of Commercial Operations, James Greenacre, on 01752 302204, or email [email protected]. Hospitality packages are subject to availability.

Home Park is located equidistant between the A38 and the city centre. The stadium is well sign-posted from the A38. Approaching Plymouth from the east, exit the A38 at the Manadon roundabout, and take the second exit towards the city centre. Remain on Outland Road for around 1.5 miles (around 15 minutes on a busy match-day). The stadium will appear in your view on the left-hand side. Take your next available left, and you will arrive in the car-park behind the Devonport End.
Plymouth railway station is located just one mile from Home Park, and there is a paved walking route which takes you through green space of Central Park straight to the stadium, taking around 20 minutes. Please note that a portion of the walk is up a steep hill.
If you are unable to walk, or would prefer not to, a taxi rank is located outside the main entrance of the railway station. A cab ride to Home Park should take no longer than five minutes, and cost no more than £5.
If you would prefer to book a taxi in advance, we recommend Need A Cab (01752 666222), or Tower Cabs (01752 252525) – both partners of Plymouth Argyle.
The Home Park postcode, for your GPS, is PL2 3DQ
The car-park outside Home Park is free of charge. However, it is operated in partnership with Plymouth City Council, as it also serves as a Park & Ride for city centre shoppers. As a result, it can often fill up quite quickly, particularly on a busy match-day. Parking is allocated on a first come, first served basis, and cannot be reserved – except in the case of disability access.
There is road parking available in the streets around Home Park – although you park there at your own discretion, and must take note of any parking restrictions.
If you require disabled parking access, please get in touch with our Disability Liaison Officer, Nikki Francis ([email protected]) at your earliest convenience to ensure your needs are met.
Sanctioned supporters’ coaches have allocated parking adjacent to the ground, which remain for the duration of the match.
If you arrive in Plymouth by public coach transport, your service will likely terminate at Plymouth coach station. From here, it is a 30-minute walk to Home Park, once again through Central Park. Upon departing the coach station onto Armada Way, turn left and walk up the hill, through the subway and past the railway station.

PLYMOUTH Argyle Football Club fully supports the principle of equal opportunities and oppose all forms of unlawful or unfair discrimination on the grounds of disability. Our aim is to make the match-day experience as enjoyable and inclusive for all supporters.
There are a number of wheelchair bays available for supporters – these are in Row A of the Barn Park End, at ground level. Wheelchair users and ambulant supporters who are in receipt of higher disability allowance are entitled to have a carer attend Home Park alongside them, free of charge. Disabled tickets can be purchased by contacting the visiting club, where proof of entitlement will need to be presented to ensure a carer ticket.
New for the 2019-20 season, we have a number of Autism Packs available for both home and away supporters attending games at Home Park. The packs include a lanyard, which will allow match-day staff to identify autistic supporters, a map of the stadium, ear defenders and a stress ball. To request an autism pack ahead of your visit to our stadium, please contact [email protected].
Our Disability Liaison Officer is Nikki Francis, who can be contacted at [email protected].

Be sure to pick up a copy of our award-winning match-day programme, The Pilgrim, from one of our many programme vendors around the ground. A programme costs £3, and includes exclusive features, interviews, squad details, history, club news and opposition analysis.
This season, we have also introduced a kids’ programme, which includes games, quizzes and information for children, as the perfect companion for just £1.
The Green Taverners supporters group hosts a Fans’ Fest ahead of each and every league game, and away fans are also welcome to attend.
The event includes live music, and incorporates a pasty and a pint within your entry ticket. For more information on this event, or to buy tickets, visit the GT’s website. Please note, capacity at these events is limited, and we advise you to book early to avoid disappointment.
Plymouth Argyle Football Club is proud to have achieved the highest standard, Gold, in the EFL’s Family Excellence scheme, and we are always looking for ways to improve the match-day experience.
We welcome visiting families to utilise our Family Zone, located underneath vomitory 20 in the Barn Park End, just along from the visiting supporters’ seating.
The Family Zone includes a number of video game consoles, a pool table, table tennis, a tuck shop and many board games for families to enjoy. The club mascot, Pilgrim Pete, is also known to frequent this area pre-match for photo opportunities.
In addition, there is also a Fan Zone located outside of the Devonport End, which offers activities for families prior to kick-off.
The Pilgrim Fans’ Fest Families
Visiting supporters will be housed in the Barn Park End, which is located behind one of the goals, next to the teams’ dressing areas. The away turnstiles are located on the opposite side of the ground to the main car park. Home Park is an all-seater stadium, including the away end. There is a roof which covers the majority of the seating, although rows nearer the front are more susceptible to inclement weather.
Turnstiles open 90 minutes before the game takes place. We adopt a searching policy at Home Park, which, particularly ahead of higher-profile or better-attended games, can cause a delay upon entry. It should go without saying that prohibited items will not be permitted into the ground.
The away facilities include refreshment kiosks,
which sell a range of hot and cold food and beverages, and toilets. All supporters must co-operate with our stewarding team, who act in the interest of all supporters’ safety and welfare.
The following articles must not be brought within the ground: knives, fireworks, smoke canisters, air-horns, flares, weapons, dangerous or hazardous items, laser devices, bottles, glass vessels, cans, poles and any article that might be used as a weapon and/or compromise public safety. Any person in possession of such items will be refused entry.
We advise all supporters that, upon entry to Home Park, they must comply with the Ground Regulations. These can be located at www.pafc.co.uk/club/ground-regulations/
