1 Purpose This configuration guide provides the information you need to set up the configuration of this building block manually.

If you do not want to configure manually and prefer an automated installation process using BC Sets and other tools, refer to the installation guide of this building block.

2 Preparation

2.1 Prerequisites If you want to use Plant Maintenance, install the following Building Blocks in your SAP system:

Indian Baseline uses tax procedure TAXINJ, while Best Practices for Chemicals (India) uses tax procedure TAXINN. Due to this migration, there are two steps in J03 and J05 which should not be installed! For details, please refer to Quick Guide.

3 Installation

3.1 Defining Location Use The purpose of this activity is to define locations within a plant. A location allows a plant to be classified according to spatial or situation criteria.

3.6 Defining Plant Sections Use The purpose of this activity is to define plant sections which enable to subdivide the maintenance plant from the point of view of production responsibility. The person responsible for the plant section is the contact for coordination between production and plant maintenance.

3.8 Define Object Information Keys Use The purpose of this activity is to define the object information key. This key controls a special information window. The parameters set here determine which data is to be shown for a technical object. The key can be assigned to the following objects:

• Functional location categories

• Equipment categories

• Notification types

• Order types

Functional Locs/Fun Use The purpose of this activity is to create the structure indicator which determines the edit mask and the number of the hierarchy levels when you create functional location structures.

• Data is proposed or used as a reference from the work center

• Data is proposed from the profile
