1. Product Information

1.1 General Information

PMAC201HW multi-channel power meter is a intelligent multi-function power meter,

mainly used in measuring electronic parameter of multi circuits, suitable for automatic

power monitoring, building automation, factory energy efficiency management, electrical

instruments, applications.

PMAC201HW saves investment cost and wiring, installation, debugging and so on

operating cost for customer.

1.2 Product Feature

PMAC201HW provides comprehensive measuring function, fulfills requirements of

three phase network:

3 phase AC voltage, 4 x 3 phase or 12 x single phase AC current;

Power on/off event records, records working duration, power on/off time and

duration of loads.

SOE event records parameter amendment record;

Data freezing function (15min once ), can freezing current, voltage, power,

energy ..data for last 40 days;

Multi-tariff function, memory last 40 days multi-tariff energy;

Demand Calculate

Support single phase / three phase input, support CT setting independently

Support 0.1A rated current input, Measuring Max. 5000A

1.3 Product Information

PMAC201HW multi-channel power meter is consists of main module, external split core

CT and PMAC102 24V DC power supply module, external CT is standard configuration,

power supply module is optional configuration, please pay attention when placing order.

The dimension of each module can be referred to chapter 3 and 4.

PMAC201HW adopts optional PMAC102 power supply module, which offers 24VDC

power supply for main module, itself with short circuit, overload and overvoltage

protection. The specification as followed.

5. Measuring Parameter

5.1 Current

PMAC201HW support Max. 5000/0.1A AC current input, please avoid secondary circuit

open during connecting, or high voltage caused by excitation effect will makes human

injured or instrument damaged.

The current can be configured as A/B/C voltage at random.

5.2 Voltage

PMAC201HW directly measures voltage under 330V (phase to phase)/570V (line-line)

without external PT. It can set as Y connection or Δ connection.

5.3 Active Power

PMAC201HW can separately measure active power of each circuit in 12 circuit x single

phase, or total active power of each circuit in 4 circuit x 3 phase.

Attention

During connecting, please pay attention to the correspondence of

voltage and current sequences, otherwise, it will causes power

calculating error; Meanwhile, make sure +/- of CT and meter’s

terminals, otherwise, the value will be negative.

5.4 Reactive Power

PMAC201HW can separately measure reactive power of each circuit in 12 circuit x

single phase, or total reactive power of each circuit in 4 circuit x 3 phase.

5.5 Apparent Power

PMAC201HW can separately measure apparent power of each circuit in 12 circuit x

single phase, or total apparent power of each circuit in 4circuit x 3 phase.

5.6 Power Factor

PMAC201HW can separately measure power factor of each circuit in 12 circuit x single

phase, or total power factor of each circuit in 4 circuit x 3 phase. The measuring rage is

from -1.000 to +1.000. As same as power measuring, the power factor’s calculated

value is reflected by connection of CT and meter’s terminals.

5.7 Demand Calculate

PMAC201HW can separately measure current demand, active power demand of each

circuit in 12 circuit x single phase, and total active power demand of each circuit in 4

circuit x 3 phase. Demand calculate is fixed window. Calculate interval 15min.

5.8 Energy Calculate

PMAC201HW can separately measure input/output active energy, input/output reactive

energy of each circuit in 12 circuit x single phase, and total input/output active energy,

total input/output reactive energy of each circuit in 4 circuit x 3 phase.

5.9 Multi-tariff Calculate

PMAC201HW supply multi-tariff function, each tariff list can be set max. 8 periods in one

day and 4 different tariff (F1, F2, F3, F4 means 4 kinds of tariff)

Customer can set 4 season in the whole year (12 month). Each season can set

independent multi-tariff mode, distinguish working day and holiday day.

6. Event Record

6.1 Power ON/OFF Event

PMAC201HW records ON/OFF event of load signal, depth: 40 records, in chronological

sequence, record content includes: event (power on or off) occurrence time, last event

duration. The ON/OFF critical value can be set from 0.01 to 100A

For instance: event logging records when phase A current under critical value, record

includes: phase, event (power on or off), occurrence time, last event duration.

Meanwhile, PMAC201HW supports power ON/OFF event records clearing.

6.2 Parameter Revising Event

PMAC201HW records parameter revising event, depth: 10 records, in chronological

sequence, record content includes: phase, parameter, revising time, occurrence time,

primary value and revised value. Revising without any parameter modified won’t be

recorded.

For intense: Change PT ratio from 100 to 200, the PT ration value (revised item),

revised time, primary value100, revised value 200 all will be recorded.

Meanwhile, PMAC201HW supports resetting function for parameter revising event.

6.3 Data Freezing/ Load Record

PMAC201HW offers a 64M bits - bulk memory to enlarge storage space.

Notice:(1) Sudden power fail will cause at most 1 hour data losing.

(2) Data will be saved normally after electrified 1 hour continuously.

For instance: To check the 2nd record on 2012-03-28, write 0, 12, 3, 28, 2, 1 one by one

to 47001-47006 registers, then read this record from 47007 – 47052 registers.

7. Display and Operation

LED display

1. 4 bit LED nixie tube screen, display communication address and baudrate;

2. Communication address and baudrate can be set on LED display.

LED light indicator

1. 7 indicators: RUN, TX, RX, P1, P2, P3, P4

2. Working status: Under normal status, RUN indicator flashing each second;

Under abnormal status, RUN indicator always light or off.

3. Communication sending: TX indicator flashing, during data sending.

4. Communication receiving: RX indicator flashing, during data receiving.

5. Pulse indicator:

P1: IA1, IB1, IC1 total active energy input

P2: IA2, IB2, IC2 total active energy input

P3: IA3, IB3, IC3 total active energy input

P4: IA4, IB4, IC4 total active energy input

8. MODBUS Communication Protocol

PMAC201HW provides one RS485 communication interface, use MODBUS-RTU

communication protocol, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity bit. Specific protocol term can

be referred to Chapter 10 to 14.
