Late notificationThis insurance does not cover incidents which may result in a claim that are not notified in writing to us (or our claims service) as soon as reasonably practical (other than as specified in Section 6).

For claims occurring under Section 6 –Photography and video, you must observe the specific claims reporting conditions detailed within this section.

This insurance is underwritten by AXA Insurance UK plc other than Section 10 – Legal expenses which is underwritten by Inter Partner Assistance SA.

Meaning of defined terms

These meanings apply throughout your policy. If a word or phrase has a defined meaning, it will be highlighted in bold blue print and will have the same meaning wherever it is used.

There are additional defined meanings in some sections.

Additional costs The difference between the original cost of the wedding services and/or wedding events and the rearranged wedding services and/or wedding events.

Adverse weatherWeather conditions are such that they cause major disruption to travel services i.e. rail, road or bus, therefore severely affecting the ability of participants and guests to attend the wedding ceremony. For international travel by air or sea, the booked arrival date must be at least five days before the wedding ceremony.

AttendantsNon-professional participants (that is participants who do not receive a fee or remuneration of any kind) who attend to the bride or groom during the wedding ceremony.

Bodily injuryInjury caused by external, violent and visible means.

Bridal attireClothing and accessories of a formal nature worn by the bride at the wedding ceremony whether hired or owned.

Ceremonial attireClothing and accessories including ceremonial sword (other than bridal attire) of the bride and groom, male and female attendants and the parents of the bride and groom, whether hired or owned.

Civil partnershipA legal union between two people of the same sex in the United Kingdom or equivalent if outside the United Kingdom.

Making a claimIf you need to make a claim please first check your policy to make sure that you are covered. You must then follow the Claims condition on page 8.

Defined perilFire, lightning, explosion, aircraft or other aerial devices or articles dropped from them, riot, civil commotion, strikers, locked-out workers, persons taking part in labour disturbances, malicious persons other than thieves, earthquake, storm, flood, escape of water from any tank apparatus or pipe or impact by any road vehicle or animal.

Denial of service attackAny actions or instructions constructed or generated with the ability to damage, interfere with or otherwise affect the availability of networks, network services, network connectivity or information systems. Denial of service attacks include, but are not limited to, the generation of excess traffic into network addresses, the exploitation of system or network weaknesses and the generation of excess or non-genuine traffic between and amongst networks.

Essential documentsThe documentation required by the relevant foreign authority to enable the wedding ceremony to take place outside the United Kingdom, this includes, but is not limited to, visas, birth certificates and passports.

HackingUnauthorised access to any computer or other equipment or component or system or item which processes stores or retrieves data whether your property or not.

HomeYour permanent residential address in the United Kingdom.

Insured/you/your Any person who has made a significant financial contribution to an insured event and is also resident in the United Kingdom together with the couple named in the schedule.

Insured eventUp to 6 events relating to one wedding celebration provided they all take place within a period not exceeding 94 days.

Insurers/we/our/usShaadi Cover underwritten by AXA Insurance UK plc other than in relation to Section 10 – Legal Expenses insurance where this is underwritten by Inter Partner Assistance SA.

Loss of limbPhysical severance at or above the wrist or ankle or the total and permanent loss of use of an entire hand, arm, foot or leg.

Loss of sightComplete and irrevocable loss of sight in one or both eyes.

MarqueeThe hired tent, gazebo or other summer house arrangement together with staging, chairs, tables and ancillary equipment hired or leased by you (or by another person on your behalf) solely for the purpose of your wedding ceremony and for which you (or such other person) are responsible.

TerrorismFor England, Scotland and Wales Terrorism is defined as acts of persons acting on behalf of, or in connection with, any organisation which carries out activities directed towards the overthrowing or influencing, by force or violence, of Her Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom or any other government de jure or de facto.

For Northern Ireland Terrorism is defined as an act including, but not limited to the use of force or violence and or threat thereof of any person or group(s) of persons whether acting alone or on behalf of or in connection with any organisation(s) or government(s) committed for political, religious, ideological or similar purposed including the intention to influence any government and or put the public or any section of the public in fear.

For the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man or any other territory Terrorism is defined as an act of any person(s) acting on behalf of or in connection with any organisation which carries out activities directed towards the overthrowing or influencing by force or violence of any government de jure or de facto.

United KingdomEngland, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Virus or similar mechanismProgram code, programming instruction or any set of instructions intentionally constructed with the ability to damage, interfere with or otherwise adversely affect computer programs, data files or operations, whether involving self-replication or not. The meaning of virus or similar mechanism includes but is not limited to, trojan horses worms and logic bombs.

Wedding ceremonyA ceremony which creates a contract of marriage or a civil partnership which is legally enforceable within the United Kingdom.

Mobile WC unitThe hired-in temporary lavatory facilities, including fixtures and fittings.

Overseas weddingA wedding ceremony taking place outside the United Kingdom.

Period of insuranceSpecifically defined in each section of this policy.

Permanent total disablementTotal disablement from engaging in or attending to any occupation whatsoever for at least 12 months from the date of bodily injury, and at the end of that time is beyond hope of improvement.

Personal accidentA sudden, unexpected, unusual, specific, violent, external event, which occurs at a single identifiable time and place and independently of all other causes, which results directly, immediately and solely in physical bodily injury which results in a loss.

PhishingAny access or attempted access to data or information made by means of misrepresentation or deception.

Pre-existing medical conditionAny ongoing medical condition, or condition which has required medical treatment (including consultations or advice) within the last 12 months from the date the cover starts as shown in the schedule.

Significant financial contribution A financial contribution of no less than 50% of the total cost of the insured events or 50% of any one of the insured sections.

Wedding giftsGifts for the couple presented for the purpose of celebrating the wedding ceremony, including cash and vouchers.

Wedding ringsThe ring(s) exchanged by the couple at the wedding ceremony.

Wedding servicesServices traditional to the celebration of a wedding ceremony such as: professional photography and/or professional video operation; professional wedding planner; floral arrangements; hired cars or other transport; wedding guest accommodation; toastmaster; venue; wedding cake; ceremonial attire; catering; DJ/disco; band/musician or paid entertainment contracted by you to provide services at the insured event. Wedding gift list providers are not included.

Policy conditions

These are the conditions of the cover and apply throughout your policy. There may also be addititional conditions under each section of cover. If you do not comply with a condition you may not receive payment for a claim or you may lose all right to your cover.

If you are unsure about any of the conditions or whether you need to tell us about any matter, please contact us or Shaadi Cover.

Cancellation condition1 You may cancel this policy within 14 days

of receiving the policy documents by contacting us at:

We will provide you with a full refund of premium providing you have not made a claim and the insured event did not take place within 14 days of receiving the policy.

2 If you cancel this policy at any time after the 14 day statutory period has expired, no refund of premium will be given.

3 Non payment of premiums – we can cancel this policy immediately by sending you written notice if you do not pay the premium.

4 Cancellation of your policy will not affect any claims or rights you or we may have before the date of cancellation.

Change in risk conditionIf the risk changes during the period of insurance let us know because you may not be insured. If you do not comply with this condition we have the right to refuse your claim. We do not have to accept any request to change your cover. If we accept any change we may increase the premium or apply different terms and conditions.

Claims condition 1 You must notify us of any incident that may

result in a claim as soon as you can and in any event as soon as reasonably practical of becoming aware of the incident. You or your legal representatives must supply at your own expense, all information and evidence needed by us to support a claim. Additional action then depends on the type of claim:

a theft, loss, malicious damage or vandalism – you must tell the Police as soon as possible

b legal liability for bodily injury or damage – as soon as reasonably practical upon receipt send us any court claim form, summons or other legal document served upon you

c you or anyone acting on your behalf must not accept, pay, settle or refuse or decline any third party claim without our written consent.

2 In the event of a claim, you must provide full details in writing to show that original contractual obligations with suppliers were in place.

3 Claims on more than one section of the policy for the same loss are not permitted.

4 For claims occurring under Section 6 – Photography and video, you must observe the specific claims reporting conditions detailed within this section.

If you or anyone acting for you:

1 knowingly make a fraudulent or exaggerated claim under your policy;

2 knowingly make a false statement in support of a claim (whether or not the claim itself is genuine); or

3 knowingly submit a false or forged document in support of a claim (whether or not the claim itself is genuine),

We will:

a refuse to pay the claim;

b declare the policy void, treating it as if it had never existed without any refund of premium; and

c recover any sums that we have already paid under the policy in respect of the claim and any previous claims.

We may also inform the police of the circumstances.

Geographical limits conditionThis policy applies to insured events taking place anywhere in the world. For insured events taking place in the United Kingdom, cover is available under all sections of the policy subject to payment of the appropriate premiums. For insured events overseas cover under Sections 14 Marquee and mobile WC unit is not available and cover under Section 12 Public liability is excluded for insured events taking place in the USA or Canada. Under Section 9 Professional counselling cover excludes professional counselling provided outside of the United Kingdom.

Law applicable conditionYou and we can choose the law which applies to this policy. We propose that the Law of England and Wales apply.

Unless we and you agree otherwise, the Law of England and Wales will apply to this policy.

Legal representative conditionIf you die, your legal representative(s) will have the protection of this cover as long as they comply with the terms and conditions of this policy.

Medical examination conditionWhere a claim for bodily injury is made you will undergo any medical examination that we may require. In the case of death we will be entitled to have a post mortem examination at our own expense.

Premium payment conditionYou will not be covered under this policy unless the premium has been paid.

Reasonable care conditionYou must take reasonable steps to

1 take due care and attention at all times for the safety of your property

2 take all reasonable steps to prevent accident, loss or damage.

If you do not comply with this condition you will not be covered and we will not make any payment in respect of a claim.

Subrogation (our rights condition)We will be entitled to undertake in your name or on your behalf

1 the defence or settlement of any claim

2 steps to enforce rights against any other party before or after payment is made by us.

Sum insured limit conditionOur total liability will not exceed the respective sums stated in your schedule.

Third party rights conditionThis contract is between you and us. The rights under this contract will not be enforceable by any other party other than you or us because of the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

Transfer of interest conditionYou may not transfer your interest in this insurance.

Policy exclusions

The following exclusions apply to all sections of this policy.

Attendance at court exclusionWe will not cover any losses arising as a result of your obligation to attend a Court of Law as a witness, if your attendance falls within your occupation or professional or other similar capacity. We will, however, cover losses where you attend in your own private, non-professional capacity.

Breach of government regulations exclusionWe will not cover any losses arising from prohibitive regulations by the Government of any country.

Electronic risks exclusionWe will not cover you for any losses directly or indirectly caused by contributed to by or arising from or occasioned by or resulting from

1 the alteration, modification, distortion, corruption of or damage to any computer or other equipment or component or system or item which processes stores transmits or receives data or any part thereof whether tangible or intangible (including but without limitation any information or programs or software); or

2 any alteration modification distortion erasure, corruption of data processed by any such computer or other equipment or component or system or item

whether your property or not, where such loss is directly or indirectly caused by or contributed to by or arising from or occasioned by or resulting from virus or similar mechanism or hacking or phishing or denial of service attack.

We will cover subsequent damage which is covered by this section, which itself results from a defined peril covered by this section, except for damage caused by malicious persons other than thieves.

Existing circumstances exclusionWe will not cover any circumstances (likely to give rise to a claim on the policy) which you are aware of at the time of taking out this policy.

Flight costs exclusionThis policy does not pay for flight travel costs.

Financial loss exclusionWe will not cover any losses, whether directly or indirectly, arising out of your financial incapacity.

Inflatables, firearms and fireworks exclusionWe will not cover any claims arising from the ownership or use of

1 bouncy castles and other inflatables

2 firearms, fireworks or other pyrotechnic devices or effects.

Malicious damage exclusionWe will not cover wilful or malicious acts and any acts of vandalism by people invited to the insured event by you.

Medical advice exclusionWe will not cover anyone acting against the advice of a medical practitioner.

Pollution or contamination exclusionWe will not cover any loss, damage, liability or bodily injury arising directly or indirectly from pollution or contamination, unless caused by a sudden and unforeseen and identifiable incident.

Pre-existing medical condition exclusionWe will not cover any claims arising directly or indirectly from any pre-existing medical condition.

Radioactive contamination exclusionWe will not cover damage, or any other loss or expense resulting or arising from damage to any property directly or indirectly caused by or contributed to by or arising from

1 ionising radiations or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear fuel or from any nuclear waste from the combustion of nuclear fuel

2 the radioactive, toxic, explosive or other hazardous properties of any explosive nuclear assembly or of its nuclear components of that assembly.

Self-inflicted injury exclusionWe will not cover your wilfully, self-inflicted injury or illness, solvent abuse, alcohol abuse, the use of drugs (other than drugs taken in accordance with treatment prescribed and directed by a registered medical practitioner, but not for drug addiction) or your injury from an unnecessarily dangerous act (except in an attempt to save human life). We will not cover any loss whereby any period of disability or loss whatsoever, is increased through your own act or omission.

Sexually transmitted disease exclusionWe will not cover any claim arising directly or indirectly from injury, illness, death, loss, expense or other liability attributable to sexually transmitted disease.

Sonic bangs exclusionWe will not cover you for any loss or damage directly caused by the pressure waves of aircraft and other aerial devices travelling at sonic or supersonic speeds.

Stress exclusionWe will not cover any claims arising directly or indirectly from anxiety, stress or depression unless you are admitted as an in-patient at a recognised hospital.

Existing circumstances exclusionWe will not cover any circumstances (likely to give rise to a claim on the policy) which you are aware of at the time of taking out this policy.

a any act of terrorism, regardless of any other cause or event contributing concurrently or in any other sequence to the loss

b any action taken in controlling, preventing, suppressing or in any way relating to any act of terrorism

c riot, civil commotion and (except for damage or interruption to the business caused by fire or explosion) strikers, locked-out workers or persons taking part in labour disturbances or malicious persons.

If any of the points above are found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder shall remain in full force and effect.

In any action, lawsuit or other proceedings or where we state that any loss, damage, cost or expense is not covered by this section it will be your responsibility to prove that they are covered.

Theft exclusionWe will not cover any

1 loss or theft from unattended secured venues or vehicles unless involving forcible and/or violent entry or exit

2 theft or attempted theft unless involving forcible and/or violent entry or exit from attended secured premises.

Travel and accommodation costs exclusionWe will not cover travel and accommodation costs to attend professional counselling in the United Kingdom.

Unlawful acts or proceedings exclusionWe will not cover any losses arising as a result of any unlawful act by you or criminal proceedings against you or any other person on whom the wedding ceremony plans depend in any relevant country.

Vaccinations exclusionWe will not cover any losses directly or indirectly occasioned by, happening through, or as a result of vaccinations.

War risks exclusionWe will not cover any claims caused by or happening through war, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities (whether war is declared or not), civil war, civil rebellion, warlike operations, revolution, insurrection or military or usurped power, confiscation, nationalisation, requisition, seizure or destruction or damage to property by or under the order of any government or public or local authority.

Section 1 – Cancellation and rearrangement of the insured event

What is covered

Part 1 – CancellationWe will pay up to the amount stated in your schedule for any irrecoverable expenses incurred by you for ceremonial attire, flowers, photographs, caterers, transport, accommodation and the services from any other wedding supplier booked but not used as a direct result of the unavoidable cancellation or curtailment of the insured events as a result of

1 the booked venue or caterers for the insured event being unable to hold your wedding ceremony due to an outbreak of infectious or contagious disease, damage to the venue (including marquee subject to cover being selected), murder or suicide at the premises or closure of the venue by the relevant authority, bankruptcy or liquidation

2 the death, injury or sickness of the couple or your close relative which would make it inappropriate to continue with the insured event

3 the unforeseen and total non-appearance on the wedding date of any booked and paid for professional wedding services

4 accidental complete loss of or severe damage to bridal attire or ceremonial attire (of the couple only) which renders the items unwearable, where the purchase or hire of alternatives is not possible

5 redundancy, where notice is received at least eight weeks after the issue of the policy and qualifying for payment under the current United Kingdom redundancy legislation, of the insured

6 the unforeseen cancellation of your previously agreed leave of a serving member of the UK armed forces or unavoidable and necessary duty for the ambulance service, coastguard, fire brigade or police personnel which occurs during the period of insurance

7 the non-appearance of the officiating minister or registrar

Section 1 – Cancellation and rearrangement of the insured event continued

8 the inability of the couple and more than 50% of the guests to reach the insured event venue due to adverse weather conditions (cover starts 14 days after the premium is paid)

9 claims arising directly or indirectly from failure to obtain the recommended vaccinations. (For you or anyone else upon whose health your wedding ceremony depends).

Part 2 – RearrangementIn the event of cancellation or curtailment of the insured event or services for reasons specified in Part 1 above, we will pay up to the limit detailed in your policy schedule to reimburse you for reasonable additional costs incurred in rearranging the insured event and/or wedding services to a similar standard to the amount originally budgeted.

What is not covered

Applicable to Part 1 and Part 2We will not cover any claim arising directly or indirectly from

1 strikes or labour disputes

2 unemployment other than redundancy as specified in Part 1 What is covered

3 worsening of your financial circumstances or those of any person or company on whom the wedding ceremony arrangements depend, except as provided for in Part 1 What is covered

4 wedding ceremony arrangements not honoured by your employer, other than as provided in Part 1 What is covered

5 your refusal to enter into the contract of marriage as agreed, failure to comply with legal requirements or your failure to obtain the relevant legal documentation needed to enable the wedding to take place

6 failure to notify the provider of any goods or service as soon as possible if it becomes necessary to cancel or curtail the insured event

7 cancellation, curtailment or rearrangement of travel and/or accommodation arrangements made for a wedding ceremony outside the United Kingdom

8 additional costs not notified to us or agreed in advance of the rearranged wedding ceremony

9 normal pregnancy, without any accompanying bodily injury, illness, disease or complication. This section is designed to provide cover for unforeseen events, accidents, illnesses and diseases and normal childbirth would not constitute an unforeseen event

10 pre-existing medical conditions.

What is coveredWe will pay up to the amount stated in your schedule for the reinstatement or replacement (at our discretion) of bridal attire or ceremonial attire if it is lost or damaged whilst in your possession or that of your close relative, within 3 months before and for the duration of the wedding ceremony. For hired bridal attire and ceremonial attire this cover will apply for up to 48 hours after the start of the wedding ceremony to allow for re-hire and the taking of photographs by a professional photographer only.

What is not coveredWe will not cover

1 theft, attempted theft or malicious damage losses not reported to the Police as soon as reasonably practical

2 loss or damage by theft or attempted theft of any bridal attire or ceremonial attire left in any unattended vehicle, unless it is left in the locked boot or locked glove compartment of a motor vehicle, concealed from view and there is evidence of violent, visible and/or forcible entry.

Section conditionThis condition of cover applies only to this section. If you do not comply with a condition you may lose all right to cover under your policy or to receive payment for a claim.

Claims condition In the event of a claim an amount will be deducted to reflect previous wear and tear for owned and hired ceremonial attire and bridal attire.

Period of insurance For bridal attire and ceremonial attire cover under this section starts 3 months before the wedding date and finishes at the end of the day of the wedding ceremony

For hired bridal attire and ceremonial attire cover under this section will apply for up to 48 hours after the start of the wedding ceremony.

Section 3 – Wedding gifts

What is coveredWe will pay up to the amount stated in your schedule (subject to the maximum for any one item) for loss of or damage to wedding gifts as a result of accident, fire or theft or attempted theft whilst being stored by you or your close relative. This cover also applies whilst gifts are in transit.

What is not coveredWe will not cover

1 any loss by theft or attempted theft not reported to the Police as soon as reasonably practical

2 loss or damage by theft or attempted theft of any wedding gifts left in any unattended vehicle, unless they are left in the locked boot or locked glove compartment of a motor vehicle, concealed from view and there is evidence of violent, visible and/or forcible entry

3 loss or damage by theft or attempted theft of any wedding gifts left in your permanent residence in the United Kingdom (unless any other location has been agreed in writing by us), wedding ceremony venue or wedding reception venue, unless there is evidence of violent, visible and/or forcible entry or exit from the property where the wedding gifts were contained

4 more than the maximum amount per item shown in the schedule for any wedding gift.

Period of insuranceCover starts from when you receive the gift, but not more than 7 days before the wedding ceremony and for a further 24 hours after the wedding ceremony or until a claim is made under this section, whichever occurs first.

Section 3 – Wedding gifts

What is coveredWe will pay up to the amount stated in your schedule (subject to the maximum for any one item) for loss of or damage to wedding gifts as a result of accident, fire or theft or attempted theft whilst being stored by you or your close relative. This cover also applies whilst gifts are in transit.

What is not coveredWe will not cover

1 any loss by theft or attempted theft not reported to the Police as soon as reasonably practical

2 loss or damage by theft or attempted theft of any wedding gifts left in any unattended vehicle, unless they are left in the locked boot or locked glove compartment of a motor vehicle, concealed from view and there is evidence of violent, visible and/or forcible entry

Section 4 – Wedding ring(s), flowers, attendants gifts and cake

What is coveredWe will pay up to the amount stated in your schedule for loss of, or damage to, wedding ring(s), flowers, attendants’ gifts, and the wedding cake which occurs during the time specified in 1 and 2 of Period of insurance below.

What is not coveredWe will not cover

1 theft of wedding ring(s), flowers and attendants’ gifts unless these items were removed by visible and/or forcible means

2 any loss due to theft or attempted theft, not reported to the Police as soon as reasonably practical

3 loss of, or damage to, floral arrangements, or to the wedding cake, which are covered under Section 1

4 loss or damage by theft or attempted theft of any wedding ring(s), flowers, attendants’ gifts or the wedding cake, left in any unattended vehicle, unless they are left in the locked boot or locked glove compartment of a motor vehicle, concealed from view and there is evidence of violent, visible and/or forcible entry

5 more than the maximum amount per item shown in the schedule for any wedding ring or attendants gifts.

Period of insurance1 Cover for wedding ring(s) starts 7 days

before the wedding ceremony. Cover expires 24 hours after the wedding ceremony or when a claim is made under this section, whichever occurs first.

Section 5 – Wedding cars

What is coveredWe will pay up to the amount stated in your schedule if the private car hire firm or individual with whom the car hire arrangements have been made fails to meet their contractual obligation(s) following non-appearance, breakdown or road traffic accident. This covers irrecoverable deposits and any additional costs.

What is not coveredWe will not cover

1 losses which are covered under Section 1

2 losses arising unless a written contract is in existence

3 any costs which would have been incurred had the original supplier not failed to meet their contractual obligations

4 financial failure of any service provider.

Section 6 – Photography and video

What is coveredWe will pay you up to the amount stated in your schedule for expenses incurred to take or re-take wedding ceremony photographs or videos or refund any non-recoverable amount which you originally contracted to pay as a direct and necessary result of

1 non-appearance at the wedding ceremony

2 loss of, or damage to, the original film or negatives, or loss or damage to the digital media on which the photographic images are being stored, (before copies are made)

3 non-development of the original film or negatives or non-development of the digital media on which the photographic images are stored (other than as a result of, under or over exposure), before copies are made so that final prints cannot be produced

by the professional photographer or professional video operator contracted for the wedding ceremony.

What is not covered1 losses which are covered under Section 1

2 any costs which would have been incurred had the original supplier not failed to meet their contractual obligations

3 losses arising unless a signed written contract is in existence

4 financial failure of any service provider.

Section conditionsIf it is planned to take photographs of the couple cutting the wedding ceremony cake and the wedding ceremony cake is damaged up to 36 hours before the end of the wedding reception, we will pay up to the amount stated in your schedule to arrange an alternative photographic session.

Any event that may lead to a claim being made for re-taking the photographs of the wedding ceremony cake cutting ceremony, must be notified to AXA Insurance Claims Service (telephone 0870 900 0867) as soon as reasonably practical after damage of the wedding ceremony cake.

What is coveredWe will pay up to the amount shown in the benefits schedule as compensation to you or, where appropriate, your legal representative(s) if you sustain bodily injury caused by external violent and visible means, which solely and independently of any other cause within 12 months from the date of the personal accident causing such bodily injury results in your death, permanent total disablement, loss of sight or loss of limb(s).

Provided that

1 death or disablement occurs within one year of the bodily injury

1 claims arising from circumstances you were aware of at the time of issuing this policy

2 claims arising from a condition where a terminal prognosis had been given before this policy was arranged

3 professional counselling provided by a member of your family

We will pay you up to the amount specified in your schedule for any claim or series of claims arising from any one event or one source or original cause in respect of your legal liability as a result of accidental injury to third parties or accidental loss of or damage to third party property.

1 any insured event taking place in the USA or Canada

2 liability arising as a result of ownership, care, custody or control of animals

3 liability arising from the ownership or occupation of land or buildings

4 liability due to any criminal proceedings

6 any liability arising out of the Road Traffic Act or its equivalent in a jurisdiction where the wedding ceremony takes place

If you are unhappy with the service that has been provided, you should contact us at the address below. We will always confirm to you, within five working days, that we have received your complaint. Within four weeks you will receive either a final response or an explanation of why the complaint has not been resolved plus an indication of when you will receive a final response. Within eight weeks you will receive a final response or, if this is not possible, a reason for the delay plus an indication of when you will receive a final response. After eight weeks, if you are unhappy with the delay, you may refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service. You can also refer to the Financial Ombudsman Service if you cannot settle your complaint with us.

Making a complaint

Beyond AXAShould you remain dissatisfied following our final written response, you may be eligible to refer your case to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).

The FOS is an independent body that arbitrates on complaints about general insurance products. The FOS can only consider your complaint if we have given you our final decision.

You have six months from the date of our final response to refer your complaint to the FOS. This does not affect your right to take legal action.
