WhatisthePnPTool? The PnP tool is an account Executive tool which allows for the creation of groups of product lists for specific institutions. Account Executives can use the tool to provide custom messaging to the institution, as well as transactionable lists of products grouped together in any way they choose.

WhatarethelimitationsofthePnPTool? During the Pilot Testing of the tool, the areas for custom messaging are not 'smart editors.' Therefore, any links or formatting must be entered using basic HTML tags. Also, there can be only one Custom List per institution. It is a one-to-one relationship.

GettingStarted 

1. Go To playbook.pearsonschool.com/pnp. Login Screen will appear.

2. Enter Your U42 id and click on Log In.

3. Your Dashboard will appear.

YourDashboard On your dashboard screen, you will be able to:

Create New List View your existing List

For each institution in the list you can see:

Name of the Institution Date it was created Date it was last updated Whether it is Published or Not. Published lists will appear on PnP website. Status

Institution Name is hyperlinked. When you click on it, list detail page will appear.

CreateaNewList You can create a new list for a group of product listings for a specific institution.

1. From you dashboard, click on Create New List link.

 

2. Enter your school zip code and click on Next.

 

3. Select Institution box appears. Select your institution from the list and click on Next.

 

4. List has been created and you will be navigated to the list details page.

5. On the List detail page, you can:

View the name of the institute Publish Status – If the list is published (live) or Not Publish Button – To publish the list Delete Button – To delete the list Text area to enter a custom message Add group(s) to the list

6. Enter a custom message and click on Save. Custom Message is a required, so system will Not allow you to save the list untill you have entered and saved a custom message.

7. When you enter and save the custom message, you will receive a confirmation message.

Note: You should Create at least one group under your institution list before you publish the list.

CreateaGroup You are required to add a group to the list and then add product(s) to that group.

1. To create your group, Click on Create a New Group or create your first group link under Product Groups.

2. Group Detail page appears. Enter the group name, brief description and ISBN-10 or 13 for

the desired products and click on Save Group. Remember: Enter one ISBN per line (no commas, no spaces, no dashes)

3. When you click on Save group, the system will verify the ISBN’s you enter with SAP and

display them along with their SAP names, Marketing Names and Product Names. When system verify’s the ISBN information, there are 3 possible outcomes: 1. Complete Match – The ISBN you entered matched with ISBN information in SAP. 2. Partial Match – The ISBN you entered match with the ISBN information in SAP, however

the ISBN you entered is associated with multiple Program Names. 3. No Match – The ISBN you entered did not match with the ISBN information in SAP.

4. For products with a complete match, system will display status as “OK” highlighted in green.

  

5. For products with a partial match, system will display the status as “Identify Program”

highlighted in yellow.

  

6. You should select the desired program name from the dropdown so that it can appear on published list.  

  

7. Once you have selected the desired program name, click on update group button. The status will now change to “Ok” highlighted in green.

8. For products with No match, system will display status as “Requires External Review” highlighted in red.

9. Any products with “Requires External Review” status will be automatically routed to a product specialist for review. These products will not show on the PnP site until the review is complete.

10. Once you have updated your product information, click on update group button and “Your group has been saved” message will appear.

11. From the group detail page, you can add more products to the existing group by clicking Add more products links.

 

12. When you click on add more products link, system will display Enter ISBN Screen. Enter the desired ISBN’s and click on Add Products

13. System will again perform the ISBN check and navigate you to group details page.

14. You can also delete a product from the list by clicking del link for a particular product.

15. Delete Item warning message will appear.

  

16. If you click on Yes, Delete button, system will delete the product from the list. If you click on No, Cancel button, system will not delete the product from the list. In either case you will be navigated back to the group details page.

17. From the group details page, you can go to institute’s detail page by clicking Return to List button.

18. On the Institute List page, you can see the group you have created and the ISBN’s you have entered.

  

19. You can add additional groups to the list by clicking Create New Group button.

20. For the product lists to appear on the PnP site, you should publish the list. Click on Publish button to publish the list.

 21.  You will recevie a confirmation message “Published Status Updated”. Also, the publish

button now changes to “Unpublish” and Publish Status is changed to “Yes”  

  

22. To unpublish, click on “Unpblish” button and system will unplubish the list from the pnp website.

ViewPublishedList1. Go to the PnP site @ http://www.pearsonschool.com/index.cfm?locator=PS1t3p

 

2. Enter your Zip Code and system will populate the list of institutes in the area. Select the institute for which you created custom list using the PnP executive tool.

3. System will display the custom page for the institute you created. You can see the custom message you entered and the groups you created for the institute.

 

4. Select the desired group from the dropdown. The page will referesh and system will display the products you entered in the product list for the group.

 

Note: Only products with the status of “Ok” will appear in the list. To view other products select a different group using the select a group dropdown.

5. For institutes that do not have a custom list attached to them, system will display search by author, title, isbn functionality.
