Writing Writing- Fact vs FictionInformative texts tell us factsabout a topic. Facts are truestatements about the topic thatcan be proven. For example,there are 24 hours in a day.

Fiction means that theinformation has been made upand there is no proof. Forexample, I have swam aroundthe world.

Split your page into twosections. On one side writesome facts about yourself andon the other side write somemade up things about yourself.Read them to another personand see if they can guess if it isfact or fiction.

Writing- ConjunctionsWatch Miss Norbury’s ‘minilesson on conjunctions tocomplete this activity.

Conjunctions are joining wordsthat link together parts of asentence (and, so, but) tocreate a compound sentence.

Simple sentences:Miss Norbury likes to read. Shealso likes to go shopping.

Compound sentence:Miss Norbury likes to read andshe also likes to go shopping.

After you have joined in withthe lesson, create your owncompound sentences usingconjunctions (and, so, but).

Division- Share BearsDivision means to share intoequal groups.

Yasmin and Zach have somebears to share. Which numbersof bears can they share equallyso that there are none leftover?Can they share one bearequally? Can they share twobears equally? Three bears?Four bears...?
