Audio Podcasting.

Audio Podcasting in the Philippines is not as fashionable as it is in the United States. I can give you a number of reasons why it is not but I will do that in my next Slide Share Podcast Journal.

For now, I will give you a few reasons, backed up by analytics, why you should consider producing your own audio podcast already or “placing advertisements” in audio podcasts in the Philippines.

Why Consider Audio Podcasting in the Philippines.

Since I launched my audio podcast/lifecast program, “Martin’s Mancave”, and my podcast aggregation platform, http://podcast.ph, in August 2, 2014, my number of plays have increased more than 10,000%.

Imagine, from 3,000 plays in August last year to 333,000 plays for the month of March 2015!

Projection.

In the last 7 months, Podcast.Ph averaged at 1,400% growth per month. This average gives us a projection of 1 million plays in the month of August 2015. This makes Podcast.Ph the fastest growing podcast platform in the Philippines.

What is Podcast.Ph?

Podcast.Ph is a podcast platform for independent content creators in the Philippines. The objective is to help independent content creators produce professional audio and video podcasts.

Podcast.Ph went online on August 2, 2014 with its maiden program Martin’s Mancave hosted by Podcast.Ph Founder and Developer, Martin Andanar.

Albeit not yet officially launched and just 7 months in the market as of April 2015, Podcast.Ph has 17 serious indy podcast programs already, namely: Martin’s Mancave, Dreamscope, Real Crime, Real Ghost Hunt, Manual, High School Hangout, Travel Podcast, Health Podcast, Religion, Weekend News Maker, Music Sessions, Dear Bayaw, Original Ideas, Rock Ed Radio, The George Review, Bonfire Podcast Discussions & Documentary and the ASEAN Podcast Network.

Podcast.Ph’s SoundCloud plays increased more than 10,000% from 3,135 plays in August 2014 to 333,488 plays in March 2015 (Again, just 7 months in the market). A staggering average growth of 1,400% every month gives the platform a projection of 1,000,000 plays on its 12th month alone.

All of the uploaded content in all mentioned media players are aggregated in http://podcast.ph, the main website of Podcast.Ph. Podcast.Ph currently focuses on its audio content on SoundCloud & Itunes and is on its way to improve its video content on Youtube.
