Blindness

Who cares if you are blind?

We are still kind.

You can achieve many great things.

You can be one of those kings.

We have made some laws for you.

So there is no need to look blue.

Turn your frown upside down.

Because you belong to our town.

By Dilly

Prejudice

Prejudice

Mean, brutal

Hurting, uncaring, teasing

Not being treated equally

Unfairness

By Kassidy

4

Blindness

Blindness is darkness.

Causes me to feel loneliness.

It’s hard to walk straight.

I feel a lot of weight.

I face my fears.

I’m encouraged by my peers.

Homeless Homeless

Windy, freezing

Asking, shaking, begging

Very hard to live

Blindness

If I were blind

I would want everyone to be

kind

Because I could not see

Definitely not me!

By Ashleigh

8

Blindness

A blind person cannot see

They also cannot ski

They live in the dark

And cannot see a fire spark

They cannot see a buzzing bee and

don’t know if they have got tea.

By Daniel

9

Homeless

Some people don’t have any money,

You don’t need to laugh

because it is not funny.

Please give them a bath.

By Dakota

Blindness

Blindness is really hard

It feels like a cave

You cannot read a get well card

You really have to be brave.

Deaf

Deafness, you cannot hear

You cannot hear very clear

Loving is all around

It’s like your spinning round and round

And then you get a cochlear.

No Home

There was a man who had no home,

And it made him like a garden gnome,

He sat and slept on the streets of New

York,

All he wanted was some pork,

It made him feel so alone,

He wished he could call someone on the

phone.

Homeless

Homeless

Sad, scary

Poor, frustrating,

lonely

Don’t have a house.

Houseless

By Josh

13

Homeless

There was a guy call Joe,

And he was a good old foe.

He did not have a home,

So he had to live under a dome,

He did not have any food,

So he was in a bad mood.

If only he had a house,

He would not see a mouse.

He wished he had a friend,

One he could depend.

Social Justice

Social Justice is nice

Social Justice is good.

Many people like rice.

So share some food, you should.

By Chanhee

Blind

I am blind

I cannot see

I still have a mind

Some people don’t like me.

By Charlotte

Disabilities

Even though people are homeless,

Doesn’t mean they are a mess.

And though some people may be blind,

Doesn’t mean you don’t treat them

kind.

Some people can’t move,

But they still have a lot of groove.

So some people may be different,

But doesn’t mean they’re not

brilliant.

By Evvie

17

Hard to see

Blindness

Afraid, unsafe

Bumping, tripping, falling

Need lots of help

Fear

By Noah

18

Rules

There is something called rules,

They are only made for fools,

I really like these things,

They ring in my ears and go “ding

ding!”

By Bailey

Blindness

Blindness

Scary, sad

Trembling, working, playing

A part of life

Darkness

By Lyssie

No home

Don’t be rude to those that have no

money,

Always be kind and give them food like

honey,

Those people are in a mess,

But remember they are homeless,

And if they don’t have a tip,

Don’t forget to give them a bit.

By Anisha

Homeless

When you are homeless,

All you need is kindness,

You have no friends anymore,

You are more like an apple core,

You have no money,

But you stay sunny,

It is very hard,

All you have is a playing card,

I wish I had a lovely home,

Most of all I wish I was not alone.

By Will

Blind

Blind

Black, darkness

Walking, wobbling, falling

Wanting to see again

Nothing

By Dana

Poor

I am really poor,

I do not have a door,

I feel really sad,

And yet really mad,

Please can I have some more?

No home

Everyone teases me,

I don’t have a key,

I wish I had a job,

Sometimes I will rob,

I wish I could be free.
