POINT OF VIEW
The perspective from which the story is told.
Narrator:A speaker or character who tells a story.
First person: The narrator is a character telling the story who is part of the action.
Write these pronouns in the first person box:
I, me, we, my, mine, us, our, myself
Second person:The narrator tells the story using “you,” placing the reader into the story.
Write these pronouns in the second person box:
you, your, yourself
Third person omniscient (all knowing):The narrator knows and tells about
what every character thinks and feels.
Third person limited:The narrator relates the inner
thoughts and feelings of only one character. Everything is viewed
from this character’s perspective.
Third person objective:The narrator isn’t part of the story.
The narrator cannot reveal what characters are thinking or feeling.
