GRANTIES MAZE

Granties Maze consists of 2000 trees

planted to create a network of paths

designed as a puzzle. Discover archery,

mini golf, bumper cars, paddle boats,

skirmish and more at this unique fun park.

LOCATED: 25 Donovan Road, Foxground

WINERIES & BREWERIES

The Kiama area is home to Crooked River

Wines, with year-round events and a restaurant

onsite; family-run Roselea Vineyard, boasting

spectacular views; and Gerringong's Stoic

Brewing. Grab a Shoalhaven Coast Winery

brochure for extra options.

BOMBO HEADLAND

A legacy of blue metal quarrying in the

1880s and 1900s has left us with a moonscape

of basalt walls and columns. These are a

regular back-drop to video

clips and television advertisements.

LOCATED: North Bombo Beach access

off Hutchison Street or via Cliff Drive.

BONEYARD

A sheltered pebbly beach located on the

northern side of Bombo peninsula. Popular

secluded spot for a picnic, snorkelling or

standup paddleboarding. Surfers can also be

found on the right-hand reef break.

LOCATED: At the southern end of Cliff Drive,

Kiama Downs, or accessed by foot from North

Bombo.

KINGSFORD SMITH LOOKOUT& SEVEN MILE BEACH NATIONAL PARK

With panoramic views of Seven Mile

Beach, this lookout commemorates the first

commercial flight from Australia to New

Zealand by Sir Charles Kingsford Smith in

1933 which took place on the long smooth

beach below.

LOCATED: 1 Headland Drive, Gerroa.

HARS AVIATION MUSEUM

Let your sense of discovery take flight at the

Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS)

Museum. It’s a great day out for big kids

and little kids – a ‘working museum’ where

there’s always something new to see. Open

7 days a week from 9.30am – 3.30pm.

LOCATED: Corner Airport Road and

Boomerang Place, Albion Park Rail (approx

15 minutes north of Kiama).

MINNAMURRA RIVER & HEADLAND

Translating to ‘plenty of fish’ Minnamurra River is

not only renowned for fishing but also a popular

and safe swimming, snorkelling and kayaking

spot. Take the Kiama Coast Walk south up the

headland offering spectacular views of Stack

Island, the ocean and Minnamurra River.

LOCATED: James Oates Reserve, access from

Charles Avenue.

GOLF COURSES

Playing a round has never been more fun

with three completely different courses.

Choose from Jamberoo Golf Course, with its

rural charm; a challenging seaside course

at Gerringong, offering spectacular ocean

and mountain views; or the shorter, flatter all

weather course at Kiama Downs.

KILLALEA STATE PARK

Declared a National Surfing Reserve in 2009,

Killalea offers two pristine surfing beaches

“The Farm” and “Mystics”. The

Park features 250 hectares of pristine

coastal reserve with walks, picnic areas

and BBQs. Camping facilities and a kiosk

are also available.

LOCATED: Heading north, take Shell Cove

exit and follow the signs.

CATHEDRAL ROCKS

This distinctive rock formation is part of our

geologically fascinating coastline. Years of

erosion have shaped these volcanic rocks into

delightful sculptured forms. Be sure to take

your camera as the views and spectacular

rocky outcrop is a great spot for a picture.

LOCATED: 3km north of Kiama Township at

the southern end of Jones Beach, with access

from Cliff Drive, Kiama Downs.

JAMBEROO ACTION PARK

NSW’s favourite water-based theme park, offers

a full day of family fun and adventure, with plenty

of rides and attractions including Funnel Web,

Taipan, Banjo’s Billabong, The Perfect Storm

and Outback Bay wave pool. Open September

through until April, from 10am to 5pm. Check

website for opening days.

LOCATED: Jamberoo Road, Jamberoo, 15

minutes from Kiama township.

BARREN GROUNDS NATURE RESERVE

The reserve is loved by both walkers and

birdwatchers, particularly in spring, when it is

a mass of wildflowers. It offers a range of

walks including an easy 2km return walk to

Illawarra Lookout or the 8km ‘Griffith’s Trail’

circular walk, both offering great views.

LOCATED: Access from Jamberoo Mountain

Road, about a 10 minute drive west of Jamberoo.

ILLAWARRA FLY TREETOP ADVENTURES

A unique 1500 metre walk through temperate

rainforest joins the springboard cantilevers

suspended 25 metres above the forest floor

and a breathtaking 45m high spiral tower. Or

for the adrenaline seeker, enjoy Australia's

highest eco zipline!

LOCATED: 40 minutes west of Kiama on

Knights Hill Rd, Knights Hill.

NELLIES GLEN

Relax with a picnic and the sights and

sounds of nearby waterfalls. An idyllic

swimming hole, great place for bird watching

and exploring brightly coloured fungi and

orchids when in season.

LOCATED: On Cloonty Road off

Jamberoo Mountain Road within

the Budderoo National Park.

LOOKOUTS

Along with Saddleback Mountain Lookout

our region offers other vistas to awaken

your senses. Be sure to visit Mount Pleasant

Lookout at Gerringong; Illawarra and Cooks

Nose on the Barren Grounds Plateau

and Jamberoo Lookout in Budderoo
