ANNUAL EMPLOYMENT REPORT HIGHLIGHTS Data for this report was collected through mail surveys, follow-up telephone calls and inquiries to academic departments. The Career Center surveyed graduates of baccalaureate degrees from NDSU for terms ending in December 2005, May 2006 and August 2006. This report is based on responses from 1,206 graduates (73.4% of the reported 1,642 undergraduate degrees granted). Of the 1,206 respondents: 864 (71.6%) reported “Employed.” 277 (23.0%) reported “Post Baccalaureate & Professional.” 65 (5.4%) reported still “Active in Job Search.” Of the 864 employed respondents: 782 (90.5%) reported: “Employed Related to Major/Minor.” 35 (4.1%) reported employed in part-time positions. The average annual “related” reported salary of respondents was $38,000. The highest reported salary was $78,000. Graduates reported accepting employment in 37 states and three foreign countries. 437 respondents (50.6%) reported accepting employment in North Dakota. 259 respondents (30.0%) reported accepting employment in Minnesota. 463 respondents reported their original home state as North Dakota, of which 327 reported accepting employment in North Dakota (70.6% retention). Of this year’s employed graduates from the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources, 21.1% have chosen to farm or ranch. NDSU is an equal opportunity university.
