    \'Vhcre Poker first originated is the subject ofsome debate. To the best ofanyone's records the gameof Poker was invented inthe 1820's by sailors inNew Orleans, and wasplayed with either a 20card deck or a 32 card

    deck. Through the years there have been manyvariations of Poker using the traditional 52card deck. as well as games including the jokers or wild cards. The current preferred 8

    KR: \'\forkdays start anywhere between 9amand 2pm and continue between 8pm and 2am.This is definitely noc your average 9 to 5 job.My day typically starts out reviewing the previous day's financial reporting and checkingmeecing schedules which average about two rothree a day with subjeccs ranging from specialevents to hiring schedules. Budgets, financialforecasts, marketing and advertising strategiesalso occupy a good portion ofmy day. 1 have anopen door policy so I frequencly meer withpatrons and te'J,nl members as the needs arise.My office is located on the Poker gaming floorand I ensure that I have the opporrunity to getout into the room and talk to my players and(cam members in that arena as well.G&L: \Vhat are some of your top priorities,and challenges. as the Director?KR: l\.[y top priority is and has always beenplayer satisfaction. and there are many factorsin achieving this. First and foremose is the creation of a team that consistently and sincerelycares about our players. Our Poker roomcould have never achieved the success thae wenow enjoy if it were not for the dedication andcommitment of rhe incredible team that isnow in place. Secondly, it is always extremelyimportant for me to keep my finger on thepulse of the Poker community and respondingquickly to shifts in player preferences and aCt-ing on surfacing issues.My biggest challenge is keeping Poker freshand exciting for our players. Seeking out newopportunities to accomplish this can be verytime consuming, but this is also the mostrewarding part of my job. \Y/e have just concluded a month long Deep Suck ExtCiwaganzaevent which featuted the inauguml North
